Townsville 4WD Club Inc
This new page represents the Townsville 4WD Club and it's adventures. We welcome new visitors. Why Join Us?
Joining the Townsville & District 4WD club is easy and provides you a great opportunity to have fun with a group of people who have a passion and willingness to share in adventures in the great outdoors. Enjoy 4WDriving and camping, gain new friendships, and the experience of our great social events. Members come from all walks of life and many have started out with limited experience in 4WDriving
We had a blast with our friends from Whitsunday Coast 4X4 Club Inc. and CT 4x4 CLUB INC at our annual multi club event @ The Fourways 4x4 Park over the weekend. Turning up the training tracks.... navigating blindly... and getting dirty in the mud pit. Thanks to the Townsville team members efforts we brought home the trophy..... and bragging rights I'm sure the other teams can't wait to show us how it's done next year!! The best part is definitely the friendships!! Thanks to the Whitsunday crew for the effort in traveling, hope you all made it home safe!! Shout out to our amazing neighbours at the Towers who provided the fabulous venue as always. WINNERS ARE GRINNERS!!!
One of the amazing perks of being in the club is the fantastic private stations we get to experience and explore. Keeping these relationships are very important to us and the owners of our latest adventure filled weekend's destination have requested we don't share photos of the property. You can see by the state of our car in the photo the fun we had!! Great weekend with a small group of members exploring a new place, lots of mud, sand, one recovery and some tricky obstacles. Beautiful scenery and nature to explore and even a chilly dip in the creek....
We spent last Sunday travelling to Big Bend, Charters Towers. Great day trip shared between members and visitors. Thanks to all that came along :) A bigger group does make more fun!!
A day with testing our vehicles and skills a little, coupled with great views and a shared sausage sizzle!!
Our members headed to one on our favourite spots over the weekend... a private station, Paluma way how gorgeous is this place? A lovely place to camp with many tracks to explore with breathtaking views.
We had a lovely social outing last weekend at Kooroorinya races. This is a good old fashioned country race meet, camp for free, have a bet, dress up, enjoy some country fun and then dance the night away!!!
We took the opportunity to escape for the long weekend. The club headed to O'Brien's Creek Campground. What a great spot, definitely worth checking out!! Large grass campground right on a beautiful creek for swimming, water sports and just relaxing. Great fossicking opportunities and gnarly tracks to navigate.
What a great overnighter last weekend!!! First club trip to Blackiron and it certainly didn't disappoint.. A great camp spot for families and relaxing, swimming and watersports, fishing (with success!!), animals and they even supply games! Not to mention the magnificent starry sky to gaze upon... this is a keeper!!
Back from a fabulous Easter Weekend Adventure!!! Hope everyone enjoyed the Easter Weekend with lots of adventure, 4WD tracks in the great outdoors and of course Easter Eggs and goodies!! Our adventure started a little wet and we thank Granite Gorge Nature Park for accommodating us at short notice. We carried on to our friends @ All Terrain 4WD for a relaxing weekend on their tracks, beautiful creek and campgrounds...
Townsville and District 4WD club members ventured to Charters Towers for our recent Day Trip... Our neighbours from Charters Towers 4 X 4 club had a come and try day and who can resist their tracks!!!
A couple of our members ventured up early to help set up (and mow), followed by our day trippers on the Sunday. Their training tracks are there to give you a feel of your vehicle before being led on a tour of the many tracks and obstacles around the park, as always finishing up with the famous MUD PIT for bragging rights!!!

Several of our club members and visitors spent the weekend at a beautiful private station north of Townsville. Adults, children and pets enjoyed camping by the creek complete with camp-fire and exploring nature.A highlight of the trip was definately a drive around the property checking out the ruins of an old mine and rail. The opportunities afforded to us by being members of the club are endless.
For over 20 years the Townsville 4WD Club Inc have volunteered a yearly event to clean up the Ravenswood Cemetery.
With 24 members, 2 children and a few furbabies attending over the weekend (largest turnout since 2015), we had it done in under 2 hours.
We headed to the local Imperial Hotel afterwards for a few well deserved beverages and country cooked lunch.
Camping overnight at the Ravenswood showgrounds, this leads to our annual "Camp Oven Cookoff" with 16 delicious dishes, but only one winner - congratulations to Kerrie & Damien taking the award with their tasty satay chicken.

Hi All, we've have had a enquiry sent through asking if anyone knows if the Burdekin River near Fletcher Creek is in flood or below the river bed?

Hoping one of avid 4x4'ers can assist with this question.
Thanks in advance!

What a fantastic way to end our 2022 calender of events with the Townsville 4WD Club Inc and CT 4x4 CLUB INC (Charters Towers) combined Christmas Party at Mystic Sands Golf Resort with 70 people attending.
The afternoon/evening was filled with games for both the adults and kids, afternoon nibblies, a visit from Santa and exchanging gifts, a roast meal at the club house and then sitting around sharing stories well into the wee hours.
A huge thank you to both club's social committees for the amazing efforts in organising the event with everyone having a wonderful time, can't wait to do it again next year - especially with the 2023 4WD Corroboree only just around the corner.
