A HEART revolution is coming. HELD my new body of work is nearly here.
HELD was born out of a 2-year dark initiation where I was forced to surrender to life so deeply that I found myself being held by life in the most unseen and invisible ways.
HELD - a Holy Heart Immersion is not only a body of work, its a revolution where we come back into the deepest connection with our heart and we fall into all the ways we are held by life.

Its been a slow and long birth with the copy for this work taking a year to complete, having only finished it just a few weeks ago.

HELD will help us become competent grievers, allowing our hearts to stay fluid and soft. We will redefine grief, to not only death but will begin to look at all the ways sorrow gets stuck in our heart freezing our life energy.

I have in the last few years completed a teacher training in holding ritual space for grief with Francis Weller and this HELD body of work will include exploring the 6 gates of grief as well as all the things I have come to know about the heart.

These 6 gates of grief are a deep portal into understanding ourself, life and they way we hold and metabolise sorrow through our bodies.

1. Everything we love we will lose. Exploration of impermenence and developing stability in an unstable world.

2. The parts of us that have not known love. Exploration into parts that recede to the shadows that are waiting for love. We will develop deep inner self compassion.

3. The sorrows of the world. Grief over destruction of the planet and injustice. We will come to remember our wild entaglement with all things.

4. What we expected and did not receive. The loss of village and connection and hopes and dreams. We will develop a deep connection to ourselves, each other and the unseen realms.

5. Ancestral Grief from the trials and tribulations of our lineages. We will strengthen our connection to the reslience of our ancestry.

6. The harms we've caused, both personal and collective. We will take radical responsibility for the way we have also caused harms to others. We will move from being a victim of life to feeling held and empowered.

HELD is a Heart Initiation where we will learn to be held by all of life. HELD - A 5-day Holy Heart Immersion is booked for October 2024 🫀

What happens when two or more energy waves are in harmony or disharmony?

In harmony means the vibration patterns of their waves are symmetrical and moving at the same rate (frequency), their entanglement can enhance their collective power (make higher waves), or when “out-of-phase” can cancel or flatten their waves. These characters are referred to as constructive interference (good vibes) or destructive interference (bad vibes), respectfully.

Thoughts are translated into broadcast wave patterns that interact with other “resonant” (harmonious) energy fields in the environment. Through constructive interference, a positive thought will engage and empower other energies in the environment that are in harmony with our wishes and desires. In contrast, through destructive interference, a negative thought, will engage, activate, negative energies in the world that are challenging or threatening.

This is a hard pill to swallow, but the “truthi-est” ones often are.

I believe punishment is mainly used in the absence of not knowing what else to do...or, even if we know what to do, we are still developing the skill to do it. Punishment is easier, more efficient, and gets the “job done.” Long-term, it creates kids who become sneaky/rebel, feel ashamed, and it fractures a secure connection with the parent.

So, what to do instead?

The first thing we have to do is get our own mindset right: in other words, find our own calm. Easier said than done, I know. :) Finding our calm in the face of being triggered is the product of the inner work I talk about all the time here. It’s a muscle we strengthen every day by unlearning old narratives, taking radical care of our needs, going to therapy, etc.

Second, we must become compassionate detectives and try to uncover the “why” behind the behavior. We’re not accepting the behavior - we’re getting to the bottom of why it happened so we can prevent it from happening (as often) in the future.

Third, revisit your family values. Instead of enforcing rules because “you’re the boss” remind your kids of what’s important in your family and how as individuals, we’re always trying to stay as closely aligned to those values as possible.

Lastly, when the dust has settled, talk about what set your child off to begin with. What caused the meltdown/dysregulation/undesirable behavior? Remind them that they’re a good kid (and remind yourself that you’re a good parent) and that sometimes we make mistakes when our needs aren’t met.

One of my favorite quotes on my Connected Kid Cards is “I’m not here to punish you for your mistakes. I’m here to help you learn from them.” It’s so true.

Mama,

You don't need to take care of everything, you don't have to be a super mom, a super housewife, a super professional, a super woman.

Because when your body gets tired, there will be few who will remember that you tried to be all of this in one person.

So, leave the house for later, go for a walk, go to the park, start the gym, buy clothes, go to the salon, sleep, be yourself, take care of yourself, love yourself, and do it exclusively for and for you.

Kids grow up, the husband sometimes leaves, the job finds a replacement, the house will get dirty again, but you don't get a second chance.

It’s fairly known that peri-menopause can cause a myriad of hormonal disruptions.

Despite the frequently spoken, ‘hot flushes’ one of the most common symptoms that is experienced is poor sleep. This includes insomnia, waking between 2-4am, feeling wired before bedtime or waking unrefreshed.

This occurs due to lowering estrogen levels, and poor hormonal imbalances.

A simple change by ensuring you get morning sunshine is imperative to help this shift. Morning sunshine initiates a healthier cortisol response, and can improve your circadian rhythm. Along with this, it exposes to gentle Vitamin D - a pre hormone also just as vital during perimenopause.

We are lucky in North Queensland to have an abundance of sunshine, so let’s use it to our benefit ☀️
