⭐ The Northern Beaches is the forgotten part of Townsville.
What public transport exists beyond the Black River?
I can tell you, it's none.
Has the Council approached the current State member?
I can tell you, it's a no
Did the Council consider sewerage treatment works on new estates at Bluewater, Rupertswood, or satellite communities' further North?
The answer is no, again.
Where are our tip vouchers? Council charges a small fortune to even dump a mattress!
⭐ I want to bring change out our way.
I live in Bluewater; I care about my community. We need better transport; We need to advocate for light rail to the city on the current rail line. We need better sewerage infrastructure. We need a decent Community center at Ruperswood, as well as an upgrade to the Bluewater community center.
We don't just blindly pay our rates to then look after ourselves, we do it because we trust Council to look after us.

WHO am I❓
I am Jake Farrell, your local candidate for Division 3 in the upcoming 2024 Townsville City Council election 🗳️
I am 29 years of age and a Burdekin boy, having lived most of my life in FNQ. I moved to Townsville to complete a Bachelor of Business 🎓 at James Cook University, majoring in Economics and Business Law. I’m married with two cheeky sausage dogs 🐶🐶 and have spent almost a decade calling our wonderful and passionate city my home 🏡
Interning at Townsville Enterprise, I’ve become passionate about developing economic progress 📈 in our region. I have a strong understanding of the levels of government from my professional career, and currently work in a Federal department.
I’ve joined forces with other independent candidates to form the TownsvilleCHANGE group, with the united goal of bringing transparency and accountability to Council. I am not running with an endorsement from any politician, political party or developer.
Please make sure to ‘like’ and ‘follow’ my page, there are many more exciting posts to come 🤩 including WHY you should consider me as your Candidate, and local projects we'll focus on if elected to Local Council!
I’m thrilled at the prospect of representing Division 3, our heart of Townsville, and advocating for true change in local Council.

One of the biggest problems with Transport in the Northern Beaches of Townsville is the Bus service and the daily Commute into the City. Council is in my view is not addressing the problem. For the buses that go via everywhere to get you to your destination and the lack of any bus services north of the Black River is outright neglect for the Northern Beaches Community. Council did re-surface most of Woolcock street to Deeragun a plus, but not looking at the congestion and how to solve it in peak hours has been an ongoing problem for this Council. Too hard basket I'm afraid. Why haven't they approached the State Government for a feasibly study into Light rail?
Is it time for a change of local Government in Townsville? That is a question that many people have asked, the current Councilors are asking for a third term. Do they deserve another term? Let's look at the problems that the community are currently facing. Water has been an ongoing problem, with the dam at 60-70% we have had to enjure water restrictions. The Water treatment plant at Douglas is overloaded and cannot handle the capacity, why hasn't a new water treatment plant been put on the radar? the State Government and Townsville Council have contributed to the Haughton pipelines 1 and 2, with a power station yet to be funded, what is the point if we can't treat that water effectively. I can tell all, that at this point of time it is not even considered in essential planning. Great to have a Stadium that is underutilised, not great to have clean water when the dam is near capacity. More to come watch this space.
