WOW! What an amazing day of racing yesterday! 🏁 It was great to hear such positive responses from competitors and spectators. Unfortunately, you will have to wait a whole year to relive this incredible event. Mark your calendars. JULY 2nd 2023! The race is back on! 🌴🏁

We are lucky to have Steve Sparrow Music 🎼 blessing our ears as we cool off and wind down with a drink or two 🍻 on the Peppers Deck. For the non-drinkers, # # Zero have donated ZERO beer! What a way to end the weekend!

Parents, get your kids out of the house and spend a family day on the beautiful Magnetic Island! 🌴 Our Junior event is perfect for the first timers wanting to give it a crack or even make it become a permanent hobby. It is always great to see those big smiles as they cross the finish line with great accomplishment 🏁

🧡 We are proud to announce the involvement and support of the Magnetic Island SES group again this year - their assistance in keeping us safe on their roads is invaluable to our race and will be important for letting you go fast. They are also planning on having their launch-craft on the water this year for extra safety 🏊!

The Magnetic Island SES Group is a small group that fiercely and proudly serves the community of Magnetic Island as part of the Queensland State Emergency Service. They are always looking for volunteers so if you think this is something you would like to be involved with, please take the opportunity to catch up with them after the event on the Pepper's Deck.

Part of your event registration fees are donated to them each year for willingly helping us out 🧡

How do you navigate aid stations? Take this opportunity to tackle the Magnetic Triathlon with one step ahead of the rest and prepare yourself the best you can for the big race day!

We are very lucky to have one of a very few of Triathlon Australia’s Accredited Performance Coaches Brendan right here in Townsville hosting this weekends Tips and Tricks session. Don’t be distracted by the Title of Performance Coach. Brendan has been coaching at all levels… from the freshest and newest of newbie, to Australian representative athletes across all distances for more than a decade.

Meeting point is across from the Pallarenda stinger net and the session runs from 6:30am- 8:30am. Keep en eye out for Brendan (he will probably have a coffee in hand as well! ☕️).

Make sure you bring swimmers & google, bike & helmet, running gear and a healthy attitude! Brendan will share some tips and tricks before you have a go at whatever you want to. This will be the perfect warm up before participating in the Magnetic Island Triathlon next Sunday!

No matter your experience, come on down this Sunday and we are sure you will take away some handy information that will make your Triathlon Experience a Great One 💪

✅ While the weather is usually amazeballs, you are welcome to wear a wetsuit

✅ Arcadian Surf Life Savers will be on the water for your safety and assistance

Top 3 Swim Tips for Beginners thanks to our own local high performance triathlon coach Your Multisport Coach Brendan:
💙 Relax and take good deep breath before and during the swim. Relaxing and controlling your breathing well will help you feel better and in control of your swim.
💙 Try not to go out too fast .. swim at your own pace. If you go out too fast you will tax your system and this will increase your heart rate and your oxygen requirements
💙 Most importantly have FUN… remember why you are doing this in the first place!
