5️⃣ Improves cardiovascular health
6️⃣ Enhances physical performance
7️⃣ Increases positive body image and self-confidence

Hey hey!!

For the past 6 weeks I’ve been living in my own little bubble, beating to the sound of my own drum when it has come to my training and routine.

However, next Monday it’s time to get down to business, and kick off the new timetable.

This year I’ve introduced more options, different days, and a variety of times.

One of the options that I’m super excited about is my Kickstart Circuit 🙌🏻

I often get women messaging me who want to get started, OR want to get back into a fitness routine however feel overwhelmed by all the options out there, and think they need to ‘be fit’ to start.

Well ladies - this one is for you.

So, if you’ve been sitting on the sidelines, watching what I do - then here’s your chance to jump in and grab life by the proverbial balls and join us in 2024!

10/12/2023

If you have been sitting on the sidelines watching from afar all year, then this is the perfect opportunity for you to jump on in and see what Commitment Fitness and I are all about.

We are busy onboarding people this week, so don’t delay - get onto it today!!

This is not a pity post.

This is a reality post.

Last Friday was the wake up call that I so desperately needed. I have lost so much strength, and I have kept making excuses as to why.

I don’t have time to train. Really!? I have the same amount of hours as everyone else.

I don’t have time to meal prep. Really?! I have the same amount of time as everyone else.

It’s honestly what I have chosen to do with my time.

So while I have been busy working on everyone else, and helping everyone else, why haven’t I put the same the effort into ME!

Sometimes I feel like an imposter. Like I shouldn’t post about myself here on this page cos it’s a business page.

But I kinda feel like this page is also a reflection of me, and how I work through things.

And that maybe I need to get out of my own head that people are judging me, people are criticising me, and that by me showing up a little bit more for myself, you might just show up for yourself too.

I don’t know 🤷‍♀️

12/11/2023

Never miss a Monday 🙌🏼

Even when you don’t feel like it… you show up.

Let me tell you you’ll have zero regrets joining this community, there is support, dancing on the screen and sheer hard work.

Be the reason to show up for someone today.. Happy Monday team 🙌

🌈 So this lot are getting pretty excited for the most colourful day at their school 🏫

On the 15th September the kids will be tackling a number of obstacles as colourful powder is dispersed over them at McAuley’s first ever colour run 🏃🏼‍♀️ 🤩

This is a major online fundraiser for the school which is encouraging kids to get active and to raise much needed funds towards enhancements for the schools play areas.

I am all for kids getting active - so what better way to raise awareness and give the kids some incentive to do so 💫 Especially as there are some pretty awesome prizes up for grabs too!

If you would like to spare some $$ to help their efforts, I have placed the link in the comments.

You don’t have to donate to all of them - just maybe choose your favourite 😂

Thanks in advance,

The McGuffie Awesome Foursome ✌🏼

Here’s cheers to 3 years 🎉

From what started out as a ‘hobby’ to help other Mums and women in their time of need….

Where we all worked out alongside my speedboat in my garage, to what it is now!

Who would’ve thought, hey!

As I continue to grow & evolve, so does my business. I guess that Bachelor of Business (Management & Marketing) that I completed nearly 20 years ago is finally starting to pay off 😉

I’ve been spoiled with love & well wishes today, and looking forward to celebrating with my crew at our ‘birthday party’ in a couple of weeks time 🎉

Thank you to all my past, present & future clients for helping shape TMFIT - I certainly wouldn’t be here without you all xx

02/08/2023

Do you think that all of these people waited until they were great to start!?

I get it. Taking that first step to try anything new can be daunting.

Backing yourself that taking that huge leap of faith into the unknown is going to be worth it.

The thoughts that you are having about taking that first step to improve your health and fitness are the exact thoughts that we ALL have.

💻 Virtual Classes may seem scary because you think ‘everyone is watching’. But they’re not. They’re too worried about performing the movements correctly themselves.

😃 Face to face classes may seem out of your league because once again, you think ‘everyone is watching’.

It’s simply not the case. Everyone who trains with me is there for themselves.

And I am here for you!

Trust me! A year from now, you will thank your past self for taking that step!

So this happened last night 🏆

My little biz, TMFIT PT, was awarded Excellence in Micro Business at the 2023 Business Snowy Valleys awards night.

To even be recognised and nominated for this award was very humbling, and then to take out the win was even more amazing 🤩

As I said in my acceptance speech, I felt very privileged to be standing in the room amongst so many well respected businesses, and business people.

I definitely didn’t think that 3 years ago when I took the leap to start my own business, that this is where we would be.

This award is not just for me alone, it’s for my family who have fully supported me and always believed in me.

It’s for my beautiful clients who have trusted me with their health and fitness goals. They inspire me to be better every day.

A lot of my success also wouldn’t be possible without the advice, support, guidance and collaboration with my wing woman, Bec Commitment Fitness

A massive thank you to The Bush Chemist Tumut for sponsoring this award, and to Business Snowy Valleys for hosting such a wonderful evening.

When I get to do what I love every single day, it certainly doesn’t feel like work, and I couldn’t be more grateful 🥹

Allow me to re-introduce myself…

My name is Talea.

I am ME. I don’t claim or try to be anyone else. I am not for everyone, and everyone is not for me.

I am a Mum. Of 4 beautiful children whom I am so very proud of. One beautiful girl, and three handsome boys.

I am a Wife. To my soulmate. We’ve been through thick and thin together, and we always have each others back.

I am a Business Owner. Of multiple businesses including TMFIT PT, and McGuffie’s Machinery Maintenance (a business that my husband and I run together)

I am a Personal Trainer & Fitness Instructor. Well, duh - simply stating the obvious. I provide a safe space for women to train and become the very best version of themselves.

I’m ready to hit the ground running next week when my full timetable resumes.

⁉️Would you like to come along for the ride?

So, as I've mentioned in my previous posts, and also across my stories - the World Health Organisation recommends at least 150 minutes of exercise per week

It doesn't matter how you break this down, for example, you could choose 40 minutes 4 days a week or if you're pushed for time then do 30 minutes 5 days a week.

It also doesn't matter what type of exercise you choose to do, just so long as you are moving and elevating your heart rate.

You don't need to think of it as flogging yourself at the gym, or running a half marathon.

You're most likely to stick to a fitness routine by choosing what works best for your lifestyle.

Cos that's exactly what I do, and that's why it's now been part of my life for 12 years. My life is hectic, and instead of me saying that I have to workout, I flip it and say "I'm so lucky that I get to workout"

So once you figure out what you enjoy, you will find that it won't become a chore, and you will also find that you too will flip your statement x

💫 TERM TWO 💫

As the school holidays are drawing to an end, my Term 2 timetable takes effect as of Monday 24th April.

💻 All 6:30am classes are virtual only with either myself or Bec from Commitment Fitness as our collaboration continues to strengthen.

🏋🏻‍♀️ Monday 9am & 5pm are hybrid - meaning that you can either attend in person at my home studio (maximum of 6 people) or via Zoom from the comfort of your own home.

🆕 A new addition to the timetable is Foam Roller Recovery where you can join me for 30 minutes of low intensity self-myofascial release.

👧🏼 👦🏻 Also, although I don’t have a child minding service, children are most welcome to come along with you to my in-person classes so you can get your movement in.

All of my classes are suitable for all fitness levels, so if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

I clearly remember the day that Jason and I spoke about having a 4th child. It wasn’t always on my agenda, however I am the kind of person that likes even numbers.

You know, the TV volume has to be on 24 or 26, not 25.

It was October 2016 - Jason & I were heading to the Deni Ute Muster. I was so grateful for my mum who looked after the kids so that we could have a weekend away. Ethen was 7 months old.

Now get your mind out of the gutters – we didn’t have a ‘dirty’ weekend away. In fact, I was expecting Aunty Flo to arrive whilst we were away. However, little did we know, the seed had already been planted. Lol!

We got back from Deni, and I was ‘late’. I left it a week or so, however curiosity got the better of me, and I took a pregnancy test. It was positive. And I cried. I mean we had discussed it, but I really wasn’t ready. I had a 7 month old, and by the time this child would be born, that 7 month old would only be 15 months old.

We didn’t tell anyone until I was 20 weeks along. I managed to keep up my exercise habits, however being a group fitness instructor, it was getting more difficult to hide the bump. I continued making sure that I made time to move everyday for at least 30 minutes. Whether that be a gym session, or even just going for a walk.

So in June 2017, our family was made complete with the arrival of Hunter. My labour was short and sweet, and my recovery thereafter even better.

I attribute a lot of my success & strength with my labours to my lifestyle habits. I also am grateful to the exercise professionals that I had in my corner who were able to accommodate me when I was a client in their classes.

I know I am an inspiration to so many women, and I don’t take that honour lightly. A lot of people have watched me go through my numerous pregnancies, they’ve seen the hard work that I have put in to where I am now, and the hard work I continue to put in.

Is every day easy? Hell no. But it certainly is worth it.

If I can change my lifestyle, if I can create new habits, if I can show my children that it’s normal for Mum to want to exercise to be strong, to live longer, to keep up with them, then SO CAN YOU!

All you have to do is take that first step. I will be with you the whole time.

17/04/2023

Further to my posts a few weeks back, in March 2016 my third child, Ethen was born. He arrived exactly 1 week before Liam’s 2nd Birthday. To say I felt overwhelmed was an understatement.

Stella had just started Kindergarten a month prior, so emotions were in overdrive as my eldest child started ‘big school’. It’s true when they say that time is a thief.

I was now a Mum of 3 – I was totally outnumbered. However, I thought I had it all under control. I mean I had been here twice before, so I should be okay with all of this, right? Wrong. Boy was I totally wrong.

Ethen was nothing like my first 2 children. He barely slept. He screamed all day. And all night. I couldn’t keep the milk up to him. I felt like a failure. The only way I could sometimes get him to rest was to put him in the pram and go for a walk. We even attended sleep school. But we were tired. I was tired.

However, the one thing that I kept up with was my exercise routine. I knew that if I just kept that up, and kept doing the one thing that kept me sane and kept me in contact with other adult human beings, that everything else in the world would be okay.

I was so very lucky and grateful that the gym I attended and instructed at had a creche right next door. It was 45 minutes just for me. A time that I could focus on me, and put everything else out of my mind. I got to release those good endorphins, and felt like a real human being, rather than just a tired Mum.

Because at the end of the day, I am a real person with needs. And I learnt quickly that it was okay to put myself first, because I couldn’t pour from an empty cup. My journey after my 3rd pregnancy was a different one as for me it was more about my mental health, than my physical health and getting back to that ‘pre-baby’ body.

Like I said a couple of weeks ago - my journey started 12 years ago, and it continues every single day. It’s not a fad. It wasn’t a quick fix. This is a lifestyle for me, and I am passionate about helping you change your lifestyle.

So, I see you Mumma. Because that Mumma is also me!

14/03/2023

In March 2014, my second child was born. A beautiful little boy whom we named Liam.

This photo was taken in December 2014 – 4 years after that photo that I shared earlier in the week.

I was happy!! I was a totally different person. Even though I was now juggling 2 x children, life was great.

Throughout my second pregnancy I had continued with my new lifestyle, and the habits that I had created, and continued exercising, and eating well – right up until I was 36 weeks pregnant.

My recovery from my second pregnancy was so much different to my first, and it really needed to be as now I had 2 small people to look after. Once Liam was 6 weeks old, I started to gently re-introduce exercise in the form of walking, and attending the group fitness classes ensuring that I was guided to perform the exercises in a low impact manner.

Throughout those past 3 years I had realised my purpose in life. That I was more than just a Mum, and a wife. I had a calling. I had experienced such a huge shift and transformation in my lifestyle, that I wanted to help other Mums do the same.

So, I enrolled in the Certificate of Fitness III & IV, and a few weeks before Liam was born I was fully qualified in both streams. I was qualified as group fitness instructor, as well as Personal Trainer.

This is what I wanted to do. I wanted to show other people that it can be done.

That you are not just a Mum. You are not just a wife.

You are a person with real needs, and wants. And that it’s okay to put yourself first.

Like I said the other day - my journey started 12 years ago, and it continues every single day. It’s not a fad. It wasn’t a quick fix. This is a lifestyle for me, and I am passionate about helping you change your lifestyle.

So, I see you Mumma. Because that Mumma is also me!

12/03/2023

This weekend I have been doing a lot of reflecting on my health and fitness journey, and giving lots of thought as to how and why TMFIT was created.

You see I haven’t always been in the fitness industry. This photo here. It was December 2010 - Stella’s first Christmas. She was 3 weeks old.

And I was in the worst shape of my life. I put on 25kg whilst pregnant with her, and getting fit and healthy was the furthest thing from mind. I was a brand new Mum, and I wanted to enjoy every single moment of that time.

I remember being so unhappy, and used to mask my emotions with my smile, and my bright & bubbly personality. I remember the long days with her. The sleepless nights. The continual crying and trying everything under the sun to figure out what was wrong. I remember being in a haze, and thinking there was never going to be any light at the end of the tunnel.

Walking was the best form of exercise for me. I could put Stella in the pram, and off we would go. It was great for both of us. However, I longed for something more. I was lonely. I had only been living in Tumut for 2 years, and still didn’t know very many people.

When Stella was 8 months old, I took the first step in regaining a little bit of me back. I joined a local gym that ran group fitness classes. I remember being so scared that I was going to be too unfit to join. That the people there were going to judge me for being overweight, unhealthy, and fat.

Instead, what I ended up finding was a group of people who couldn’t have been more supportive. I met new people. I made new friends. I realised I had to get out of my own way, and step outside my comfort zone, if I wanted to be a better person – not only for me. But for my beautiful Stella.

I wasn’t great at the start. However, every time I would go, I got better and better.

My journey started 12 years ago, and it continues every single day. It’s not a fad. It wasn’t a quick fix. This is a lifestyle for me, and I want to help you change your lifestyle, and realise that it is okay to put yourself first.

So, I see you Mumma. Because that Mumma is also me!

21/01/2023

Hey there!

It’s been a while since I’ve done this, and with our timetable about to kick off for another year, I thought it was a great time to re-introduce, or even introduce myself, to you all 💞

I’m Talea - a coffee loving ☕️ , routine driven 📝 , neat freak 🧹 who loves lifting weights and conditioning my body to prepare it for life’s every day movements.

F U N F A C T S

💫 I have 4 beautiful children - Stella (12), Liam (8), Ethen (6) & Hunter (5). You won’t see any news feed posts about them here, however they do make an appearance on my stories every now and again.

💫 I wear another business hat as my husband, Jason, is a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic 👨‍🔧, and together we are directors of our own company with a couple of employees. So when I’m not working on TMFIT, or running after the kids, I’m doing the admin for that.

💫 I have 4 x Labradors - 3 x black, and 1 x gold. So yes, between 4 kids and 4 dogs our food bill is high

💫 I hold a Bachelors Degree in Business with a major in Management & Marketing. I actually failed my first semesters accounting unit 🤦🏼‍♀️ so had to re-do it as it was a core subject

💫 I spent a semester of university studying abroad at Ithaca College in New York State back in 2003 (for those of you who have seen the movie ‘Roadtrip’, Ithaca College was featured in that)

💫 I got my Cert 3 & 4 Fitness qualifications in 2013/2014, and continually upskill with additional specialty certifications

💫 I cannot start my day without a coffee. Nor can I attempt any kind of workout or training session without any pre workout 💥

💫 I don’t like the heat, but I also don’t like getting wet, hence why you’ll rarely ever see me in the pool.

💫 I’m also a cold frog 🐸

💫 I love watching Home & Away - it’s my 30 mins of downtime where I can just tune out from the world

💫 I don’t read books. Although I probably should 🤷🏼‍♀️

💫 I only have a kitchen because it came with the house, so I like to keep nutrition simple. If I can’t create something quickly and easily, then I’m not going to bother. Jason is the real MVP when it comes to cooking 👨‍🍳

💫 And lastly, I only wash my hair once a week, and that’s usually on a Friday 💁🏼‍♀️

So there you have it - some quirky facts and insight into my life ✌🏼
