Picture this: a levitating ghost poolside, regurgitating with both horror and hilarity. A dead-but-not-dead action hero, lining up for a sausage hot of the barbie as if he just wandered off a movie set. And let's not forget the majestic blue avatar, whose love for ice cream transcends dimensions. These familiar spoofs of iconic movie characters crash backyard barbequeโ€™s and navigate familiar streets, delivering a simple message: "Don't wait for the movies to come to you." ๐Ÿคฏ

Regal Creative Director, Rodney Griffin, hits the nail on the head: "Movie theatres are more than screens; they're communal experiences, where you become a part of something bigger. A story, a moment, a collective gasp or a shared laugh - all magnified on the grand canvas of the silver screen."

Like its competitors, Regal is feeling the present and future sting of the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strike thatโ€™s disrupting the Hollywood pipeline with schedule changes and shifting release dates - so name a more iconic time to seize the moment to remind us why cinema matters because the experience of seeing the next big blockbuster on the big screen, is unparalleled. ๐ŸŽฌ

After an extra-time play out rendering the England v Nigeria match goalless at the end of 120mins, Chloe Kelly stepped up to blast the crucial penalty shootout spot kick past Nigeriaโ€™s formidable, Chiamaka Nnadozie. ๐Ÿฅ…โšฝ๏ธ

However, Kelly instantly showed her โ€œclass-actโ€ as she raced over to the heartbroken Nnadozie and pushed a camera out of the way as it tried to capture the agony on the keeperโ€™s face following her sideโ€™s heartbreaking exit from their world cup dream telling the cameraman to โ€œf%$k off!โ€ ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿฝ

The Lionesses protective instincts were in full force, as she instantly clocked and felt the immense disappointment and heartache of her competitor and put celebrating her own personal and teamsโ€™ success aside for a moment to comfort another womanโ€™s simultaneous loss. โค๏ธ

Thank God Youโ€™re BACK Here! ๐Ÿšช

The highly anticipated reboot of Thank God Youโ€™re Here finally returned to screens last night after 14 years off-air and it absolutely lived up to my ridiculously nostalgia-fuelled high hopes! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ

Rebooting such an hilarious, iconic and much-loved improvisational comedy series in a brand-new era of audiences, socio-economic climate and a super charged politically correct v incorrect era of comedy was undoubtedly a huge risk โ€“ but Working Dog Productions have proven their pioneer status in nailing the format, talent and timing! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ

It was the perfect mix of familiar faces and new talent that has emerged since that infamous blue door closed for the last time in 2009 with guest Judge Glenn Robbins and Ryan (Toadfish) Moloney and Todd McKenney making cameo appearances that surprised both audiences and the comedians alike! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

If you donโ€™t remember the show, (firstly, you canโ€™t sit with us) the format was clever, simple and required perfect timing. The premise of the show sees a guest comedian invited to walk through a blue door where an unknown scene filled with props, a narrative and an ensemble cast awaits. After being greeted with the series catchphrase, "Thank God youโ€™re here!โ€ they must then improvise in character for five minutes. ๐ŸŽฌ

Last night, comedians Urzila Carlson, Aaron Chen, Mark Bonanno and Julia Zemiro were the first invited on the series reboot and they certainly brought the belly laughs. ๐Ÿคฃ

I cannot wait to see what un-hinged comedy from familiar and new faces unfolds as new host Celia Pacquola walks them through that famed blue door each week! ๐Ÿฟ

With great power, comes great responsibility.

Growing up, we all had idols we admired, looked up to and inspired to emulate.

We were excited and entertained by them, weโ€™d dress up like them, talked like them and celebrated them - influenced by their actions, words and opinions.

This has been a generational human practice since the beginning of time. When we see someone embodying the dreams, confidence, power, talent or success that we want for ourselves, we elevate them and hold them up as someone weโ€™d like to aspire to be.

Fast forward to today, and the world has transformed dramatically. Our idols are no longer confined to glossy magazine covers or movie screens; they now populate within the vast digital landscape, wielding more influence and power than ever before.

But in this era of boundless connectivity: Are all brands and individuals harnessing their power for the greater good? Do they truly understand the immense responsibility that comes with their influence?

As a parent, I've had a front-row seat to this phenomenon, observing my 8-year-old daughter as she navigates her own world of idols and influencers. She's discovered her idol on TV, and like many kids her age, she watches this captivating figure religiously on YouTube (only because Iโ€™ve said no to her daily pleas for her own TikTok, Instagram and Snapchat accounts) but her admiration for this idol runs deep, and the influence is palpable.

This person she has chosen to idolise has a huge platform with multiple TV series, movies, song releases, brands and merchandise. They have a super engaged global fan base with accounts on all the socials and endless content easily accessible on the internet.

They have a platform, a voice and influence - a whole lot of power!

To my daughter, they are entertaining, hilarious and fabulous just like any of her friendโ€™s idols, but their influence goes beyond mere entertainment; it's a force for positive change. They:

โค๏ธ Promote positive body image, self-love and the courage to be your authentic self.
โค๏ธ An advocate for inclusivity, diversity and equality for all.
โค๏ธ Give stories a voice, that would otherwise go unheard.
โค๏ธ Challenge societal beliefs, outdated laws and lead the conversation for change.
โค๏ธ Coin catchphrases and a brand legacy that inspires and empowers.
โค๏ธ Donate and raise money and awareness for movements, people and charities.

This idol is also a person of colour, gay and a DRAG QUEEN ๐Ÿ‘‘

This mentor my daughter idolises is, RuPaul ๐Ÿ’‹

As a parent, I couldn't be prouder that her chosen role model embodies values that align with the world we hope to build. It's a testament to the power of idols who use their platform responsibly.

As we navigate this digital age where influence holds unparalleled power, let us all remember the immortal words of RuPaul and "Don't F**k It Up."

Whether you're an influencer, a brand, or simply someone with a voice, remember that with great power comes great responsibility โœจ
