๐ DRYANDRA DUGITE ๐
Check out the size of this big old snake!
Snapped by Virve Holm in the Dryandra Woodlands (from a respectful distance), it crossed the track right in front of her.
Virve had it verified by a Snake ID group as a Dugite - a heavy bodied one.
"It was almost as long as the track was wide! Awesome sight," she said.

If you are headed east please keep an eye out.
Some maintenance works have been scheduled in the park for 28-29 June 2021.
While we hope this will not cause too much disruption, we recognise that it may cause campers an inconvenience.
Please be advised that camp fees will remain the same if you choose to stay during these dates, as we are already a low budget service provider.

Perth, are you ready for the lunar event of the year? ๐ญ๐
All of Australia will be treated to a total lunar eclipse and a supermoon at the same time on Wednesday, May 26 โ and it will be the only Total Lunar Eclipse for 2021.
The Perth Observatory says the partial eclipse will begin at 5.44pm, with the total eclipse between 7.11-7.25pm. The second phase ends at 8:52pm and the eclipse itself will disappear at 9:49pm โ a total duration of 5 hours and 2 minutes.
You don't need a telescope or any special equipment to see it.
"If youโre a photographer and you want to get some great snaps of the eclipse, there are some great places in Perth like Kaarta Gar-up at Kingโs Park, Matilda Bay near the University of WA and Mardalup Park at Claisebrook Cover," staff at Perth Observatory said.
"Rottnest Island would be a great location to take photos and in the outer suburbs of Perth and Peel region, weโd recommend the Western side of Lake Joondalup Nature Reserve, South Ledge Lookout at Mundaring Weir, Lake Leschenaultia in Childlow, The base of Lesmurdie Falls in the Perth Hills, Serpentine Falls in Serpentine, Point Peron at Rockingham and the Thrombolites at Lake Clifton."

HYDEN NORSEMAN ROAD REPORT | Important please read if travelling East!
Due to the recent increase in Ross River Virus (RRV) cases across the state we would like to remind residents and travellers to be vigilant when outdoors. The higher number of RRV cases this season along the West Coast are now extending further to the regions, including Esperance - weโve had four cases so far this year. With recent rainfalls and warm weather you are reminded to ensure homes and businesses do not hold sources of mosquito breeding grounds.
Follow these steps to help prevent RRV :
Avoid outdoor exposure, particularly at dawn and early evening;
Wear protective (long, loose-fitting, light-coloured) clothing when outdoors;
Apply an effective personal repellent containing diethyltoluamide (DEET) or picaridin evenly to all areas of exposed skin and always follow the label instructions;
Ensure infants and children are adequately protected against mosquito bites, preferably with suitable clothing, bed nets or other forms of insect screening;
Ensure insect screens are in good working order on houses and caravans;
Use mosquito nets and mosquito-proof tents if sleeping outside;
Remove water holding containers from around the home and garden to ensure mosquitoes do not breed in your own backyard;
Use mosquito coils and mosquito lanterns and apply barrier sprays containing bifenthrin in patio and outdoor areas around houses.
