I maybe working part time atm but I am still loving sewing my travel games for customers. This game set is a repeat order from a lovely lady in Northern Territory.

The lead time is now slightly longer but don’t let that deter you. There are six different games on offer. Backgammon, Checkers (as per this pics), Ludo, Snakes & Ladders, Tic Tac Toe & 9 Men’s Morris.

Lightweight and compact - perfect to throw in a backpack/suitcase/picnic basket, sitting in an airport, take camping - etc etc 😊

She requested 3 additional bags for playing cards. What a terrific idea as we all tend to bind them with a rubber band or still keep the tatty boxes they come in.

I’ve been quiet here as I had an overseas visitor & then other tasks to complete. But here now is the latest Travel Game for a customer requesting black & white monochrome. So have run with black, white, dark & light greys. It’s starting to come together. 😊🖤🤍

Another customer that loves colour 🌈. I try & make the sets & extensions to the customers preferences of colour or theme. They are not pre-made but unique, individual handcrafts.

COMPLETED 4 games. A set & one extension completed & posted to a customer in my home state - Queensland today. The colours match her caravan interior perfectly & is so different to the previous order I made for two children where I chose bright colours for them. They have all been a pleasure to sew.

This is what we love about Ludo - our fav game. Blocking your opponents - OMGoodness. It’s a sh*tty rule when you are on receiving end 😃. No-one can pass this & as you can see there are counters waiting & they get pounced on by other counters advancing on them. Of course, they are then sent back home to start again. 🤦‍♀️ 😄. Swearing & cursing follows but it so much fun & a winner cannot be predicted during the game as advantage can be changed so rapidly.

We speed the game by playing with a dice each & it becomes so fast paced. Hilarious fun! This is one game option that I have recreated from a classic board game.

Suitable for adults & children.

Another Travel Game set leaving the studio today. It’s on the way to Victoria. This customer has requested the set (which has the pouch) & two extensions. So six games in total. All easy to carry, lightweight, just grab & go!

Stitching backgammon today 💛🤎. Have you played this game? Another strategy game for 2 players.

HISTORY - 9 Men’s Morris
9MM is a strategy board game & is believed to be one of the oldest games in history dating back to at least the Roman Empire. But you can’t give all the credit to the Romans as (apparently) it was played in ancient Egypt as early as about 1400BC - 3400 years ago!! Woah!! 😲

As usual the game has many names worldwide. In Nth America it is known as cowboy checkers, the English supposedly called it 9 M Morris but it’s also known as Merrill’s, Mill & Merels.

I created the fabric version from the wooden game board that was from my hubby’s childhood. It had peg holes & we used pegs from another game. 9MM has been likened to noughts & crosses on steroids 😄. A very strategic version if that’s what you love.

I know it’s a really strange name !! 🤨
I have been told it’s like noughts & crosses on steroids 😄. Basically it is like N&C but with waaaay more strategy involved. If strategy games are your ‘thing’ then you will enjoy this.

I have teamed it with backgammon, another strategic game.

Tomorrow I will post the history behind 9 Men’s Morris.

This is the 6th game on offer. Any guesses as to what this game is called! Is there anyone that is familiar with this pattern??

In the studio working on a new travel game today. It’s taking some ’nutting’ out with the dimensions 🤨. It will be a two person game & someone gave me the analogy of it being like noughts & crosses on steroids 😄. I won’t give the name yet & I feel sure that not many will have heard of it.
