Did you know that there is approx. 350 different species of termites in Australia. One of the most destructive Termites are the Coptotermes Acinacifrmis. When was your last termite inspection??? π
Spiders are still very active at the moment! Couple cuties from inside a propery.
Just playing around with ChatGPT and asked them to write me a story about pest control... I think they got it pretty spot on.. π€£π€£π€£
In a picturesque town, there lived Kris, the local pest controller. Armed with traps and sprays, he tackled every pest problem with determination. When Mrs. Jenkins's cottage was overrun with mice, Kris swiftly sprang into action. After a day of diligent work, he emerged victorious, leaving Mrs. Jenkins relieved and the town grateful. Kris may not have worn a cape, but to the townsfolk, he was their hero, one pest at a time.
This is exactly why you should never try to deal with wasps on your own. Super aggressive and thousands of them! I was safe in my PPE of course..
Very Important to keep vegetation, bushes and trees trimmed back away from the exterior of your home. This will reduce hiding places for spiders and minimizes pathways for them to enter in your home!!! π·οΈπ·οΈπ·οΈπ·οΈ
Misconception: Redback spiders are aggressive toward humans and attack without reason. Reality: Redbacks are timid and bite only when threatened or cornered, preferring to retreat if possible.
Not just Termites but Ants can often do a lot of damage to Trees & Timbers and be mistaken for Termites... πππ

A couple nice photos of some termite damage. Colony found eating away at timbers behind a bathroom wall and in subfloor. They were attracted to a very small leak in the plumbing. Location is Narre warren.
We always offer free information regarding natural ways to control insects.

Two thing you must do if you see termites in or around your building...
1, Don't Disturb Them:
Avoid disturbing the termites or trying to eliminate them yourself. Termites are social insects, and disrupting them may cause them to relocate, making it harder to locate and treat the colony.
2, Call a licensed pest control professional as soon as possible. They have the expertise and equipment to assess the extent of the infestation and recommend an appropriate treatment plan.
Do Not try and treat termites yourself!!
A little information regarding flying termites, As we are getting increased phone calls regarding them.
Termite swarms are a part of the termite reproductive cycle. During a swarm, winged male and female termites take flight to mate and establish new colonies. After mating, they shed their wings, and the fertilized female termites attempt to find a suitable location to start a new colony.
If you notice swarming termites around your property, it's essential to take it seriously, as it may indicate an existing termite infestation in or around your property. Seeking professional pest control advice is advisable to assess and address the situation promptly.
A couple fun facts about fleas.....
1, Fleas are exceptional jumpers. They can jump up to 350 times their body length. This ability allows them to move easily between hosts and navigate through fur or feathers.
2, Fleas are hardy creatures. They can survive for several months without feeding, making it challenging to eliminate them completely from an environment.
3, A female flea can lay hundreds of eggs in her lifetime. These eggs are typically laid on a host but can fall off and develop in the environment, leading to infestations.
4, Fleas have been around for a very long time. Fossil evidence suggests that fleas have been parasitizing animals for at least 165 million years.
Some helpful tips to keep fleas away from your property before it gets to a bad infestation, when The Pest Posse will need to enter the building and use the big guns πͺπͺ
1, Vacuum your home regularly, paying special attention to areas where your pets spend time.
2, Wash your pet's bedding and your own bedding frequently in hot water.
3, Plant herbs and flowers known to repel fleas around your home. Examples include lavender, mint, chrysanthemums, and pennyroyal.
4, Keep your pets clean and groomed regularly. This helps you identify and remove fleas before they become a larger problem.
5, Consider using herbal flea collars for your pets. These collars often contain natural ingredients like cedar, eucalyptus, or lavender, which can repel fleas.
Remember that consistency is key when using natural methods to repel fleas.
If you have a severe flea infestation, you must to consult with a professional pest control!

Handy tip for ants, to keep them away from kitchen areas and other areas of the home.
Natural ant repellents like white vinegar, lemon juice, or essential oils (peppermint, cinnamon, or citrus) to clean surfaces. Ants dislike these scents.

To my commercial clients. If your kitchen has a grease build up like this... It's only a matter of time before you get a cockroach infestation. Daily/weekly cleaning is a must!!!
Preventative is always better then cure!
We are getting a lot of fly jobs of late. We realize not everyone likes the idea of using Insecticides. So here is a few other ideas you can do yourself to help keep them away....
Use essential oils with strong scents that repel flies, such as citronella, eucalyptus, peppermint, or lavender. You can mix these oils with water and spray the solution around the house.
Place small bowls of vinegar around your home, as flies are repelled by its scent.
Plant herbs like basil, mint, and bay leaves around your home. The strong aroma can deter flies.
Use yellow light bulbs instead of white ones. Flies are less attracted to yellow light.
Hope this helps!! ππ
Did you know there is a beetle called.... Confused Flour Beetle!! π€·ββοΈπ€·ββοΈ
They are pests in grain storage facilities and food processing plants, as they can contaminate stored products.
Effective pest management strategies, such as proper storage practices, sanitation, and the use of insecticides, are employed to control confused flour beetles.

Random fact about our beloved cockroaches....
Cockroaches are equipped with a remarkable set of sensory organs, including antennae that can detect even the slightest changes in air currents. This heightened sensitivity helps them quickly react to potential threats or changes in their environment, contributing to their survival and adaptability.
Generally speaking, if you see a few cockroaches inside your kitchen.... there will be a lot more hiding around your dishwasher/fridge/microwave etc.....
Spiders are most active in spring and summer. This is because warmer temperatures increase their metabolism and facilitate the activity of their prey, such as insects.
So, less insects inside/around property = less spiders inside/around property.
Did you know.....
Huntsman spiders are primarily nocturnal, meaning they are most active during the night.
Unlike some spiders that build webs to catch prey, huntsman spiders are active hunters.
They use their speed and agility to chase down and capture prey.
So, what I'm trying to say here is........ Keep your windows and doors shut at night. Door strips at the bottom of all external doors. Good prevention tips πππ
Random Facts about rats....
Group of rats are called a Mischief, a male rat is called a buck, and a female rat is called a Doe.
Enjoy your day ππ
