We are closed for the season. Thank you all so much for your support. The likes, shares, words of thanks and appreciation for our product and the sales of course, we appreciate it all.
Thank you again to Webbs BP Service station for stocking our flowers this season. We really can’t do this without you.

Lots of seed sowing, ripping out old flower beds and getting ready to plant more beautiful delights will be happening now until spring. It is then we will see you again!

Our stock for this weekend has been sold out.
Thank you so much for your support. We appreciate you buying our Mother’s Day flowers , especially since they bloomed early. Nothing is so sad as throwing beautiful flowers that have flowered before a special occasion and nobody wanting them. We have been selling strong since they started blooming their heads off.
Your support is so appreciated. We didn’t need to throw them out! They have been purchased each day and lovingly spreading joy throughout the town.

It will be a quick week of flowers before the season ends and it’s all about chrysanthemums. We have started with bunches today but we will have jars and vase arrangements on offer from tomorrow as well. They certainly brighten up the space and we hope they bring joy to you all.

Attention Staff and visitors of Tamworth Rural Hospital. This week flowers will be available from the kiosk as a special treat until our flower season ends which, unfortunately will be soon , but we hope to be back in Spring.

Of course flowers will always still be available from our friends at BP Service station - next to Aldi. 😊

Flower deliveries are available this week on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee deliveries after this as stock will be dwindling. Any stock we have after this will still be delivered into
BP Service Station (Viaduct) in between the skatepark and ALDI as per normal and we can let you know via stories when our drop offs have occurred.
If you would like the guarantee of flowers this weekend Tamworth has many florists you can support as well. Thank you so much for your support and understanding. We appreciate it so much.

Dahlia Season

They’re gorgeous aren’t they?
Dahlias bloom from Summer and into Autumn. They were originally native to Mexico and Central America. I have read that there are over 50000 varieties and new cultivars are being bred as we speak. Dahlias come in so many styles that you are assured of finding one you like.

If you have the good fortune of having dahlias in your home make sure you snip the stems on an angle and change the water every couple of days. Before selling them to you I put the stems in a small amount of very hot water and let them sit until the water cools. This can aid the uptake of water and help those stems get a big drink by removing air bubbles.

Make sure you have no leaves in the vase water, otherwise this will breed bacteria.

Place your beauties away from fruit and vegetables and away from direct sunlight.

They do have a shorter vase life than our sunflowers , but we won’t hold that against them. Look after them and they will be beautiful for a while.

Our dahlias will continue to grow , slowly as it cools and then the frost will kill them, signifying their end. 😞

But don’t despair, their tubers under the ground will sleep and come to life again at the end of the year to shower us with their beauty once again.

Due to irrigation and machinery problems, extensive w**d issues, plus healing from an injured foot (it’s going well, thank you for asking), we will not be able to supply many flowers. We may have a few bunches on the day, depending on what is flowering from our stock.

Lisianthus Love ❤️

Lisianthus
Often associated with charisma, respect, appreciation. It is also symbolic of a lasting bond. They are often used in wedding arrangements to represent a life long union.

We planted these to flower for Valentine’s Day. They look a bit like a rose but unlike a rose they have an outstanding vase life. A great choice and some fun for us to grow.

Well, they are flowering now, eager to show off so they probably won’t be around for Valentine’s Day. Mother Nature had other plans. So instead, we get to enjoy them now. We only have a very small trial patch because they can be tricky to grow. We have white and red. Surprisingly, the red is looking better at this stage than the white. Yet they are planted in the same patch at the same time. Quite the learning curve for us.

You will get to see them currently in our mixed bunches, so enjoy!

Sunflowers 🌻🥰

The first flower I grew for my own personal health . I never had time for growing flowers and it was so nice to put my hands in the dirt. Mind you, it came with exhaustion and tears using a mattock to create a small row. But… it was worth it. The sheer excitement of seeing them sprout and grow gave a new meaning and purpose in my life.

Sunflowers are…
~ happy
~ represent adoration, longevity, hope
~it is seen as a sign of hope, warmth, strength, positivity and lasting happiness- always looking for the light.
~ they seem to send out a positive energy.
~it is the national flower of Ukraine

Our sunflowers are premium cut flower varieties. Pollen free, so no pollen mess. They are long lasting. They can be used in so many occasions to bring joy to others or yourself.

Did you know that sunflowers were planted at both Chernobyl & Fukushima nuclear disaster sites to help remove radioactive toxins from the environment?

We will always grow sunflowers. They are our main summer crop. They certainly brighten our day. We hope they brighten your day too.

Due to low stock in the paddock , we are unable to fulfil private orders. (Except for the current orders placed) Sunflower orders may be available soon as we transition between rows.

Sadly, we do not have the stock we would normally have this time of the year. We are up to our heads in w**ds , actually some are taller than me! It is quite the challenge working through the patches but we will hopefully soon get more stock planted .

So for a while, flowers will be limited. Just know that we will be working hard behind the scenes to try and get back on top of the situation.

We will be closed between Tuesday 2/1/24 to Friday 5/1/24. We will be off farm visiting family. Our Townsville family will be on farm keeping things alive and looking after our fur baby. We are very grateful for their love and help so we can break free for a couple of days to see some of our large family in Sydney.

We will be back soon.

I am sure Laurence would like to say thank you for the chats when delivering flowers to BP and private residences. He loves any opportunity to have a talk and loves these opportunities to practice these important conversation skills. I have to say, he has improved remarkably.

We hope the end of the year concludes well for you and that you go into 2024 with hope and blessings.

Star of Bethlehem

Also known as Agapanthus and Lily Of The Nile.

A tough , drought hardy perennial. They are delightful to grow on mass and flower for Christmas.
Some people believe that being identified as The Star of Bethlehem is incorrect . However with its beauty flowering around Christmas (spring and summer too) it is gorgeous and can look amazing in the home anytime, but especially at Christmas.

We have blue and white. We love them . Do you?

We will gradually add stock over the next couple of days until our stock runs out. Our flower patch is in very low supply. Orders are now closed and the shop will be supplied with what we have available.
Our stock is currently combined with florals from .nurserywildflowers + so it is a very native Christmas.

We will continue to let you know , via stories when deliveries are done. Flowers have now been delivered for those early Friday morning shoppers.

Campanula…Bells

What is there not to love about this new addition to Joy In The Paddock? This is our first time growing these gorgeous bells that just gives and gives pure joy.

They have an amazing vase life and the bells continue to open after harvest. One of our larger spikes has been in the vase for 2 weeks and still looking strong. (Shhh… I have neglected it too) .

We are only trialling white this year but this amazing bell can come in a variety of colours - pink, rose, purple, lilac and lavender . There are so many species and their growth habit can vary in size of the plant and shape of the bell.

It is definitely a keeper . Looks great in a bouquet and super gorgeous as a bunch all by themselves.

They represent gratitude, or faith and constancy.
We love it. It’s perfection!
