The RBA holds the cash rate at 4.35% until they reconvene in February 2024.

‘Sighs of relief’: RBA gives borrowers a Christmas reprieve While keeping the cash rate at 4.35 per cent at its last meeting of the year, the RBA has warned this may not be the end of interest rate rises.

It's official: yesterday, the RBA increased the cash rate by 0.25% to 4.35%. We'd expect all lenders to pass on this increase, with the new higher rate coming into affect in the following weeks.

HOT OFF THE PRESS: In some welcome news for mortgage holders, the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) has decided to hold the official cash rate target at 4.10%.

As has been the case with other recent RBA rate movements, yesterday's increase of 0.25 will likely be passed on by all banks to all clients - though it can take a few weeks to take effect.

Now is as good a time as ever, to reflect on where your money goes... are you paying too much interest on your current loan? Could that cash be used to support other goals or your lifestyle? It's certainly better in your pocket than the banks...
