Giving back and helping out is a true passion of ours at Swifty Media, so we are delighted to be able to get back to the ‘G for the 2024 Melbourne City Mission “Sleep At The G” event on May 16 - TONIGHT!

Nick Swifte, Founder & Managing Director of Swifty Media is sleeping at the MCG tonight, to raise awareness and vital funds for over 7,600 young Victorians, aged 12-24, who have no safe place to call home. Homelessness is NOT a choice, and it doesn’t discriminate.

We have been involved with this event since its inception, and it has been a privilege and an honour to be involved again this year.

Please donate a little (or a lot!) via the link below, to help end youth homelessness.

Thank you for anything you can provide. 🙏🏻

Yesterday, Monday May 13th, we gathered at Hamer Hall in Melbourne to celebrate, remember and pay tribute to friend, mate, boss and mentor Harold Mitchell AC. On Harold’s 82nd birthday, it was a day where so many came together - Harold’s family and friends, those in media, advertising, the arts, defence, entertainment, politics, government, sports, farming, and Australian, Aboriginal and Timorese communities.

Harold started with nothing in life, but was hard working, fierce, determined, kind, thoughtful and extremely generous. He helped many, many people, from all walks of life, over his journey, near and far, within Australia and all over the world - where his legacy will live on and continue to benefit generations for years to come.

Harold lived large and shared his self-built wealth with those less fortunate, while also looking after ‘his people’. We will continue to take a leaf out of Harold’s book, in our personal and professional lives.

Harold’s State Memorial was a beautiful, emotional and celebratory service. Much love and thoughts to Stuart, Jordan and the Mitchell family and friends, and those that played a role in yesterday being so lovely, albeit so very sad.

Founder and Managing Director of Swifty Media Nick Swifte was humbled and honoured to take the stage along with former Mitchell’s Managing Director Allen Scash (Scashy), to share some fond memories of the Mitchell & Partners days in York Street, South Melbourne - and even managed to extract a few heart-felt laughs in true Swifty-style.

If you have some time to spare, we encourage you to find a quiet space and watch the recording of Monday’s service, to learn about Harold, witness some wonderful tributes, perhaps take something away for yourself, and hear some truly beautiful music via this link https://lnkd.in/gEmDYh_Q

Vale and Thank You, Harold.
Love, The Swiftes.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
Lest We Forget.

On Wednesday, we gathered at Victoria Police Centre with around 60 ladies and men from Victoria Police and our Media Industry, to officially welcome, introduce and launch Blue Ribbon Day & National Police Remembrance Day 2023, to be held on Friday September 29.

The Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation perpetuates the memory of members of the Victoria Police who have died in the line of duty through the support of worthwhile community projects within Victoria. In total, 175 Victoria Police members have died in the line of duty. Of these, 30 have been murdered, which underlines the dangers police members face daily.

Nick Swifte, of Swifty Media has proudly worked with Blue Ribbon Day for 25 years, bringing together our generous media suppliers to provide approximately $1 million in CSA support every year.

Chief Commissioner of Victoria Police Mr. Shane Patton APM addressed the room to share the importance of Blue Ribbon Day and National Police Remembrance Day, and how the support from the community they serve and protect, means to him and his members.

Blue Ribbon Foundation Chairman Mr. David Mann AM, and CEO of Blue Ribbon Foundation Mr. Neil Soullier, OAM were also in attendance.

The TVC was unveiled, with creative and production proudly supplied by David Ellis and his team from Chocolate Studios. Long term creative partners of Blue Ribbon Day, Philip Huzzard and his team at DPR&Co are instrumental in executing the creative dispatch across radio, print, tv, out of home, digital and social.

Blue Ribbon Day is a chance for the community to say thank you to those who protect and serve our community and ensure that those who have fallen are never forgotten. We at Swifty Media are extremely proud and grateful to work with the Clients, Businesses, People and Australian Media Suppliers we do.

Relationships are the absolute beating heart of Swifty Media

BioGuano Australia
“BioGuano began working with Swifty Media in July 2022 and we have placed 2 campaigns over that time, targeting agricultural / horticultural Businesses in late 2022 - as well as a mass consumer campaign commencing in mid-2023. Swifty Media provided the strategic advice, customer target audience analysis, and media planning and buying expertise we needed for both campaigns. But their assistance was most valuable in the lead-up to our BioGuano Consumer Launch phase. Swifty Media's relationships with senior Australian media suppliers enabled us to achieve the best possible ROI for our media investments and terrific added value and other benefits. Their creativity and ideas were also very helpful in executing a successful launch.”

Swifty Media is extremely proud to be working with BioGuano Australia - Mother Nature’s Best Fertiliser. 🦅

There is nothing is better than seeing, hearing or experiencing a business you work with, and the results!

In this August edition of Better Homes and Gardens, the BioGuano Australia message takes pride of place, FP RHS (Full Page Right Hand Side, for those not in print 😉), opposite the Better Gardening section. 📖

Featured in the bold and blue artwork is BioGuano Brand Ambassador, the highly respected Mr Graham Ross of Better Homes and Gardens TV, and Radio 2GB - and extremely keen Gardener! 📺📻👨🏼‍🌾

With a huge national footprint and audience, having a presence in this environment and advertising platform that is Better Homes and Gardens, is spot-on for BioGuano Australia - being seen by many a professional, avid and backyard Gardener and Homemaker. And, with the August edition being the prelude to Spring, timing could not be better! 🌷🌼

This weekend is going to be cool and sunny so get down to your local garden centre and pick up a bottle of Australian Made and Owned BioGuano Australia - an exciting, new and organic fertiliser that is a treat for plants, trees, veggies, herbs and lawn. 🍀🪴🌵🌴🌳🍓🍑🍅🥦🌽🥕🪻

On Friday, close to 900 ladies and gents gathered in the Crown Palladium for the 2023 Melbourne Media Hall of Fame.

An annual event, assembling many great people from our media advertising industry, to acknowledge and celebrate some of the best in the business, raise a decent amount of funds for charity - and witness the famous debate!

This year’s debate topic - New School versus Old School, with both sides bringing compelling arguments to the stage. Nick Swifte, Founder and Managing Director of Swifty Media, and Australia’s pre-eminent comedic moderator, declared a draw, with the real winner being The Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal - in receipt of a very sizeable donation from ticket sales.

Huge congratulations to Peter Zavecz, this year’s very worthy inductee. Peter, Managing Director Tasmania/Victoria at News Corp Australia, was spoken about proudly by son’s Christian Zavecz and Tom Zavecz, along with Nick Chan.

Many thanks to the Committee for planning and executing another great afternoon of entertainment, laughs, reunions, stories and refreshments!

Swifty Media is very proud to support the Lazarus Community Centre Geelong’s inaugural Lunch for Lazarus together with Lifeline Geelong and South West Victoria.

The Lazarus Centre is a place for people to feel safe and welcome. Somewhere where they can take a shower, wash and dry their clothes, have a light lunch, participate in activities, meet with volunteers and receive support from specialist homelessness staff. All people are welcome whether they are homeless or not.

Lifeline Geelong & South West Victoria has a priority in making our communities, from Geelong, through to Colac and up along the Great South Coast, right up to Portland, through Warrnambool and everywhere in between – su***de safe.

A humbling event to highlight how these two organisations and their community of staff and volunteers provide much needed assistance for some of our most vulnerable residents.

We are extremely grateful for our Media Partners who generously donated advertising space within their media advertising platforms along with some fantastic prizing, to help raise much needed funds to assist in ongoing support. Huge thanks to Total Outdoor Media, Nine, ARN, Special Broadcasting Service (SBS) Australia and Seven Network 👏🏻🙌🏻

A gorgeous winter Sunday to watch the Reclink Community Cup 2022 – the hot head-to-head between community radio giants, the mighty Megahertz (Triple R 102.7FM & PBS 106.7FM) and the ruthless Young & Jackson Rockdogs!

Reclink’s structured sport and recreation programs help to improve life outcomes for those experiencing mental illness, family violence, homelessness, social isolation, gambling harm, unemployment, and drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

The Reclink Community Cup is a much-adored annual charity football match that pits musicians against media industry staff. Since 1993 the Melbourne Reclink Community Cup has attracted the who’s who of the radio and music industries that give their time (and bruises) to raise awareness and funds for Australia’s most disadvantaged. From humble beginnings in 1993, the Melbourne event now attracts more than 12,000 people and raises much-needed funds for Reclink Australia. The event’s success has been replicated in Sydney, Adelaide, and Fremantle since 2015, with Hobart and Brisbane joining the party for 2016 and Canberra in 2017.

A megaphone, speaking-trumpet, bullhorn, blowhorn, or loudhailer is usually a portable or hand-held, cone-shaped acoustic horn used to amplify a person's voice or other sounds and direct it in a given direction. The sound is introduced into the narrow end of the megaphone, by holding it up to the face and speaking into it, and the sound waves radiate out the wide end. A megaphone increases the volume of sound by increasing the acoustic impedance seen by the vocal cords, matching the impedance of the vocal cords to the air, so that more sound power is radiated. It also serves to direct the sound waves in the direction the horn is pointing. 📣
