Kalgoorlie-Boulder will be the location for a new short film set to start shooting next few months. 🎞️🎥

The first round of auditions are being held today, seeking to cast three Aboriginal children aged between eight and 12.

“6lacK1dz” will be the first film directed by Kalgoorlie-born actor Meyne Wyatt and will draw upon his own life experience growing up in the region.

Producer Taryne Laffar said there is growing demand for indigenous films and the project is a great chance for Goldfields talent to take centre stage.

“It's an industry that's growing, the opportunities are getting bigger and bolder and it might even expose other kids and family into other roles like directing, doing cameras, doing sound - there's all this work and career potential," she said.
