Rough sketches for paintings ....Charcoal pencil on butchers paper..
Poster illustration for the National Folk Festival in Canberra 2016. The brief was to show musicians, poets, artists etc coming out of the main marquee. I had to show a good cross section of people, indigenous, musicians, poets, acrobats, dancers...that best represent the Folk 'Family'. Movement and colour was important to show the vibrancy, fun and participation of the community. Every pose, eyeline, musical instrument was placed so that the eye would move around the picture. The main marquee was painted similar to the NFF logo.
