We invite you this coming New Moon in Gemini to sit in circle of the sacred practice of the Moon Lodge or Red Tent.

“The Red Tent or Moon Lodge is simply a gathering of women that occurs at the new moon when women are most in need of support, rest & reflection. This is a timeless tradition observed by ancient cultures which serves as a regular forum for empowering women’s sense of selfhood.” -Tanishka

We gather for this lively New Moon in Gemini to connect with its planetary energy of Mercury, that encourages us to use our mind, voice and create great ideas into reality. A wonderful time to listen to your hearts desire by creating a visual of what it is you want to put out into the universe.

Moon Lodge or Red Tent, is a gathering of women on the new moon each month. It is essentially a women's circle that coincides with the natural cycles of the moon.

Why the New Moon?

The new moon in ancient times before there was artificial light, was roughly when most women would bleed during their cycle.... making this time of the lunar cycle the most vulnerable time for women in the village or family unit. It is considered the time of a woman's cycle where she shamanically descends to the underworld to collect all parts of herself. It is a symbolic death and rebirth that a woman experiences each month as she sheds her lining. It is a sacred time for women as mystics and a time when our psychic senses and connection to spirit is heightened.

Not only is this a crucial time for women to have the much needed support as they descend during their cycle and face their shadows, it is the most powerful time for women to gather when they are so spiritually open.

Women have gathered for thousands of years, creating not only support for one another but creating magic and powerful healing portals that benefit everyone.

It was said that if you wanted to destroy a village, you destroy their Moon Lodge. In ancient times villages would have a permanent structure for their gatherings as it was an essential part of the function of society. A Moon Lodge was considered the heart of the village.

By reintroducing this sacred practice back into our "villages" we are reinstating a lost practice that is a necessity for women everywhere. As women are the hearts of societies, it is vital for our cups to be filled and nurtured during our most fragile time, so we feel held and not alone.

All women in today's environment due to artificial lighting, hormones, age, stress, lifestyle etc are more prone to bleed at all different times of the month. Energetically we are all daughters of the moon and feel the shift of needing to go inwards around the new moon. The Moon Lodge is open to all women (Yoni Havers) who have had menarche. Women who are in their Maga or Crone phase and may not bleed anymore are most welcome and a treasured part of Moon Lodge.

A Medicine Woman’s Prayer

”I will not rescue you. For you are not powerless. I will not fix you. For you are not broken. I will not heal you. For I see you, in your wholeness. I will walk with you through the darkness as you remember your light.”

“May we see clearly through the lens of truth.

May we be the oracle of our own destiny.

May we not be disillusioned by the false sense of oppression, as are not weak.

Our strength is in our spirit, our blood, our flesh and our bones.

Passed on from generation to generation, creating a lineage of sacred wisdom.

We are the daughters of the universe.

We are the maidens of moon.

We are the mothers of Gaia’s sons and daughters and we are the guardians of life and death.

Hear our cries as they are the calling of the ones that walked before us.

Their spirits stand behind us, guiding us while we pave the way for our sisters to come.

Bear witness as we unveil the delusion of man”

“Smudging is a sacred, ancient practice that should be respected. It has roots in Native American tradition. Dried sage, especially white sage, was used by indigenous people for decades. Shamans would burn sage in order to cleanse others of negativity while also promoting wisdom, healing, and longevity. However, over time, smudging has become a part of the New Age, commercial practices.

Smudging is a cleansing ritual that involves the burning of sage. This can also be referred to as saging and promotes physical, emotional, and mental well-being by getting rid of bad energy. Sage itself is an herb that comes from the salvia plant family. This is fitting since salvere means to heal in Latin.

The biggest benefit of smudging is that it will dispel negative ions, which cause unwanted energy. Sage will dispel the negativity caused by past traumas and bad experiences, creating a living space or a workspace filled with more positive energy.

Sage also has antimicrobial and antibacterial qualities. This means it can improve mood, concentration, and sleep quality. In addition to fighting off insomnia and negativity, it can also work as an insect repellent and fight against bugs.

There isn’t a specific amount of times a person should sage in order to reap the rewards. They should simply perform a cleansing whenever they feel weighed down by stress, toxicity, and negative energy.”- January Nelson

“The concept of apus as paqos who after their physical death inhabit mountains to serve as guides and teachers to human beings in one sense is purely cultural, a concept indigenous to the Andes. In another sense, the apus can be “translated” into a concept that is universal, as just about every tradition or culture recognizes that natural formations can be “sacred” sites.

We can make a literal equivalence to the concept of Andean apus as mountain spirits and sources of power by identifying those mountains in our area or country that have historically been recognized as being special, sacred, or otherwise called out in some uncommon way. If we trace the history of the First Nation peoples in our area, we will likely find that they related to certain mountains (and other natural formations) in ways distinct from other natural features.

That’s a clue that they in some way venerated that mountain (venerated as in “esteemed” rather than “worshipped”). If that is the case, then we, too, can establish a relationship with that mountain as a source of power.

From the Andean perspective, there is no issue of cultural appropriation, as sources of power are available to all human beings. We use our Andean energy dynamics to access that power, rather than appropriating the rituals of the local cultural group who might be most associated with that mountain or sacred site.

What do I mean by a “source of power”? In terms of the Andean tradition, this mountain or natural formation is a source of sami, of the life-force energy. From the Andean mystical perspective, everything in nature is sami, but “sacred” sites, including apus, are considered to be collectors of sami, so they concentrate sami and can act as runa micheqs, or shepherds of human beings. We can work with them as particularly robust generators of sami and also as beings who can teach and guide us.”

“When white clouds filled the land
Red stained the earth
Thunder roared and lightning struck
Red stained the earth
Darkness devoured the soul
Red stained the earth
Smoke choked the air
Red stained the earth

Cries were loud but never heard
Red stained the earth
Words misunderstood
Red stained the earth
A compromise was in vain
Red stained the earth
Land was stripped of its beauty
Red stained the earth

R***d of dignity, honor and trust
Red stained the earth
Language lost, stories untold
Red stained the earth
No more tradition, no more culture
Red stained the earth
When white clouds filled the land
Red stained the earth”- Ema Bovoro

May your cries be heard and never silenced.
May your memory live on and never be forgotten.

Oracle decks are an amazing way to connect to your higher self and receive guidance on questions that you might need clarity on.

I personally find, that choosing the deck I would like to work with is just as important as the guidance I receive from them. Your connection to your deck is an extension of your higher self. Finding the right deck will build a better connection so you can receive the most authentic answers that resonate with you.

Clearing & cleansing your deck before you use them, is also really important. Your deck needs to be cleared from any previous energies they have come in contact with. These can be from previous owners, the energy from others picking them up in a shop if they where displaced or even from the manufacturing process. These energies need to be cleared so they do not interfere with your readings and can give you clear guidance.

Clearing can be done with intention, leaving them out by the moonlight, using sacred smoke such as sage, with sound, crystals or any way you feel is authentic to you as long as your intention for their use is clear.

Some points to consider when getting ready to work with an Oracle deck.

1. Choose a deck that you are drawn to
2. Clear & cleanse your deck before use
3. Infuse your energy into each card
4. Find a sacred way/place to store your cards
5. Create a card reading rituals
6. Be clear with your intentions
7. Trust your intuition & don’t overthink it
8. Interpret symbols, colours & numbers, not just the guide book
9. Journal as more may be revealed at a later time

….. May you receive guidance with love and truth xx

“When tea becomes ritual, it takes its place at the heart of our ability to see greatness in small things. Where is beauty to be found? “This is what rituals are for. We do spiritual ceremonies as human beings in order to create a safe resting place for our most complicated feelings of joy or trauma, so that we don't have to haul those feelings around with us forever, weighing us down. We all need such places of ritual safekeeping. And I do believe that if your culture or tradition doesn't have the specific ritual you are craving, then you are absolutely permitted to make up a ceremony of your own devising, fixing your own broken-down emotional systems with all the do-it-yourself resourcefulness of a generous plumber/poet.” -Elizabeth Gilbert

These are my footprints,
So perfect and so small.
These tiny footprints
Never touched the ground at all.
Not one tiny footprint,
For now I have my wings.
These tiny footprints were meant
For other things.
You will hear my tiny footprints,
In the patter of the rain.
Gentle drops like angel's tears,
Of joy and not from pain.
You will see my tiny footprints,
In each butterfly's lazy dance.
I'll let you know I'm with you,
If you just give me a chance.
You will see my tiny footprints,
In the rustle of the leaves.
I will whisper names into the wind,
And call each one that grieves.
Most of all, these tiny footprints,
Are found on mommy's heart.
'Cause even though I'm gone now,
We'll NEVER truly part.

Herstory • “Medicine women continued to practice widely in Europe up until the so-called “Enlightenment” period. Between the Roman Empire and that time, the witchcraze and its “myth of feminine evil” resulted in the slaughter of 9 million people, nearly all women, over 300 years. History remembers this 300-year effort, if at all, as a sort of freak superstitious episode (think of Arthur Miller’s The Crucible). Yet feminist writers like Mary Daly, Andrea Dworkin and Max Dashu offer a different account.
Dworkin writes how many women deemed witches were medicine women, a truth that still exists in our cultural memory, only in distorted and corrupted form, in the frogs-and-cauldron stereotype. But these were not green-faced, evil women. According to Dworkin, it was as midwives, especially, that learned women really offended the Church.
The witches used drugs like belladonna and aconite, organic amphetamines, and hallucinogenics. They also pioneered the development of analgesics. They performed abortions, provided all medical help for births, were consulted in cases of impotence which they treated with herbs and hypnotism, and were the first practitioners of euthanasia.
Anna Göldi is said to have been the last woman executed as a witch in Europe. She was a maidservant to a physician, who accused her of having placed needles in his children’s bread by supernatural means. After attempting to escape trial, she was captured and beheaded in Switzerland in 1782.
In her book Gyn/Ecology, Mary Daly points out how gynecology was established as a practice governed by men after the time of the witch burnings. 1873 marked the publication of Dr. Robert Battey’s invention of ‘female castration’: the removal of women’s ovaries to “cure insanity”. Male gynecologists have since routinely pathologised, and medically and surgically tortured and injured women and women’s bodies through violent childbirth practices, radical mastectomies and hysterectomies, electro- and hormone “therapy”, and lobotomies” -reneejg.net

“Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life’s longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you,
And though they are with you yet they belong not to you.
You may give them your love but not your thoughts,
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you.
For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.
You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth.
The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite, and He bends you with His might that His arrows may go swift and far.
Let your bending in the archer’s hand be for gladness;
For even as He loves the arrow that flies, so He loves also the bow that is stable” -Kahlil Gibran
