In 2009 Syd Bradford started Thick as Thieves Wines in the Yarra Valley as a virtual operation - buying in grapes and renting facilities. After years of hard yakka, he has now established a family winery and vineyard. . . one happy little vegemite! Purchasing the Cypress Ridge vineyard in the Yarra Valley in 2012 was the game changer for Thick as Thieves… 26 year old pinot noir vines that are in a happy spot and produce Syd's flagship pinot wines.
syd has been described by Ben Groundwater from the SMH as "The Yarra's leading LO-FI winemaker". Certainly a big call when you compare the competition. Let us know if you want to make your own judgement and taste these amazing labours of love

Today we announce that we are excited to welcome the newest winery to our portfolio. at Terra Slate we value family owned and innovative winerys.
New Era Vineyards, have arisen from the ashes of the 2019 fires that caused so much destruction. Imagine the devastation when the fires took 85% of their land, wine and infrastructure from them.

This family run vineyard and winery operations produces just over 1500 cases of wine per year from more than ten different varieties. The fruit for these wines is carefully hand selected in the vineyard and then crafted into wines by father and son combination Bob and Iain Baxter.

with a range of alternate varieties including Aneis, Gruner Veltliner, classic Pinot Noir, the wines are pure expressions of these grapes.

Iain Baxter and father Bob are humbled and proud to be included in the finalists for YGOW 2023.

These gems will be out on the road next week, be the first to hit us up and get these on your list or in the store.

Today marks the launch of the new release 2019 Command Shiraz. A superb wine from a challenging vintage period. Whilst volumes were very low, a wine of poise and power has emerged. Vines that over a century old have delivered a gem of a wine. One to savour now or cellar for a long while.

The Command is truly an expression of place, and one which the Ashmead family intends to preserve for generations to come.

A truly great wine that has risen above the challenges of the 2019 Barossa vintage. Quantity is well down on normal volumes but these century plus vines delivered a wine of power and beauty once again.
