Unfortunately, the Superhero 5k and Fun Run has been cancelled. We will try again either in the Fall or next Spring. Open to suggestions on how to best support area runners.

Join us as we celebrate our local HEROS! We will start the day off with our CFAC Superhero 5k/Fun Run followed up by an action packed day of food, fun and shopping geared toward our First Responders and Military, past and present! Runners/Walkers get registered now! More information to come!!

Top finisher prizes are ready for pickup! (This includes our costume contest winners as well.) I will have them at Town Hall tomorrow morning by around 9:00am. You can stop by and pick them up anytime after and until 5pm Monday-Friday. There are many elements that went into today’s inaugural Community For A Cause Monster Mash 5K. It was a different than what we initially planned with a global pandemic taking center stage but we found a way and made it happen! First and foremost, I would like to thank our 100+ runners! Without you, there would not have been a race! Thank you to Go! Sports Timing for helping us navigate the world of the 5k and making us look like we knew what we were doing. A huge thanks to the Town of Pilot Mountain for working with us to set safety protocols so that the race could go on. Another huge thank you goes to our Pilot Mountain PD Chief Robbie Jackson and his officers, along with the fire department and rescue squad for helping direct traffic and keep our runners safe. Thank you Jenny Kindy for helping me get organized and execute the first 5K for both of us. Evan Cockerham, Claudia Cooke and Michelle Fallin for getting everyone registered, checked in and ready to race. This was truly a community effort and we look forward to planning the next race!! See you all in March!!

Just wanted to update everyone about the changes that we have had to make in order to keep our 5k/Fun Run in compliance with the Governor’s executive order. Stephanie Slate with Go Sport Timing has worked hard to make the process as easy as possible. I am attaching copies of the waiver and the rules/regulations. There will be an information sheet in the goody bags that will have the award pick up times and dates listed. Medals and T-shirts will be in goody bags to be picked up after race is finished. We have added a costume contest as well and those details will be in a separate post.

I am so happy to be able to post that our 5k/Fun Run is a GO!!!! There will be some changes to help us comply with the executive order but in the end YOU get to RUN!!! More information will be given in the next couple of days. Get those running shoes ready!!!

Our Community For A Cause 5K and Fun Run has been rescheduled for October 24. Please stay tuned for more information.

As many of you know, the Town of Pilot Mountain has declared a state of emergency. With this in effect, all events falling in the next eight weeks must be rescheduled. We have decided to postpone the 5K/ Fun Run until the Fall. More details will follow soon. Thank you all for your understanding and patience as we figure everything out.
