Bird Proof Solar
Bird Proof Solar can supply and install bird proof mesh around your solar panels.
First we clean underneath with a blower, then we install the stainless steel mesh, using poly-carb clips to avoid any screws or holes in your panels. *inc 10 yr Warranty!
Tree Shock! This was an interesting one. The birds were perching on the tree branches and making a mess of the outdoor dining areas below! Tree shock gives the birds a harmless "zap" and teaches them to not occupy those branches. The installer (me) also got a few zaps and now I also know not to touch those branches also!
Bird spikes are a type of physical deterrent used to prevent birds from landing on and nesting in specific areas. Consisting of a series of pointed, rigid projections, they create an uneven, inhospitable surface for birds, discouraging them from perching, roosting, or nesting in locations where their presence may be undesirable (on building ledges, in gutters, and of course, around rooftop solar panels)....
Bird Spikes Melbourne | Solar Panels Bird Control Installed properly, bird spikes offer a reliable long-lasting deterrent that can secure your space & maintain a clean, well-kept environment.
This property had big bird problems. We installed Eagle eyes on the roof to help prevent birds landing up there. We installed spikes and Opti Gel on the ledges to deter them and we installed Flock Off around the garage door to deter birds from the underground car park. It was a pretty big project and we achieved a great result by using a number of different products.
Opti -Gel is a great bird deterrent, and so discreet. It deters birds by sight, smell and touch. For those areas where spikes are not suitable, give Opti-Gel a go! We have used them on recent jobs in Point Cook, Hampton and Maribyrnong. They are glued in place, or they come with an optional magnet.
A happy eviction! After installing the elevated netting on the roof, one bird was able to swoop in through the zipper before we closed it up. The following 20 minutes saw two grown men armed with jackets, a towel and a bucket, trying to usher the pigeon out so it wasn't trapped. Ian saved the day with his lightning reflexes and ushered the former tenant out for good.
Birds can nest in your box gutters. On this job, we installed some stainless steel mesh across them to stop the birds getting in. This was a big job and the birds were nesting every place they could find.
While the gentle sound of birds chirping can add charm and vitality to our surroundings, when their populations grow unchecked, they can become more than just a picturesque backdrop—they can pose significant challenges to industries, agriculture, and infrastructure. They can also present many challenges to homes and businesses who rely on solar installations for energy. But there is a new solution - Flock Off, a revolutionary bird deterrent system that is changing the game with its innovative approach and effectiveness....

It's the long weekend, but please, NO D.I.Y. bird proofing! Just shoving some gutter guard under there won't do the job. Stainless steel mesh and clips is the only way to go. Next we need to clean the panels and the surrounding tiles, then spray a bird deterrent. This is the best way to get a good outcome.
2,000 solar panels, infested with pigeons. This was a huge mess, and we got a great result by using a few different systems.
The mess and smell was so bad, this customer was actually losing staff! It was disgusting.
First we ran an eradication program (trapping). Then we cleaned around the solar panels and on top of the solar panels. (birds return partly by navigation, and partly by smell and sight).
Then we installed stainless steel mesh around all of the panels, to prevent them from getting underneath.
Finally, we installed Flock Off system to deter the birds.
Take a look at the before and after photos. The roof was shocking and the gutters were full, with grass growing out of them. Just a flood waiting to happen.
Laser's can be very effective at deterring birds. This one was installed in a workshop, under a huge array of solar panels. There was constant mess from bird droppings on everything, due to the birds perching on the beams. The laser is very annoying to birds and this one has proven to be so effective, the birds have gone & they have now turned the laser off!
In the quest for sustainable energy solutions, solar power is a beacon of hope for a cleaner, greener future. Harnessing the sun's energy through solar panels has become increasingly popular in Aussie homes, offering an eco-friendly alternative to traditional energy sources. However, amidst the rise of solar technology, there's a silent threat lurking above—birds. Unfortunately, birds pose a significant challenge to solar panel installations, causing damage and disruption that can compromise efficiency and productivity....

Seagulls create a huge mess on solar panels and roofs. This is a retirement village in Mornington. The noise, the mess, the smell and the damage to the roof had to end. After we got a wildlife permit, we cleaned under the panels, meshed around the panels and installed 2 x Flock Off units. Things are much quieter and cleaner now.
2 be or not 2 be, that is the question? NO, the question is how we clean this enormous amount of mess under and on top of the solar panels. We obtained a wildlife permit, then had the solar panels removed so that we could clean under them, then install solar mesh around them. To finish off, we cleaned the top of the panels and the roof around the panels so that it no longer looks like the bottom of a bird cage. Prevention would have been much cheaper than the cure!
Things Cam likes.
1. My new Ramset gun.
2. Scissor lifts.
3. Big netting jobs.
Happy Birthday Cam.
We need a worker for the next two days. Just to be a "spotter". Nothing strenuous, just an OH&S obligation that we have someone watching our guy work on a single story unit. Job is at a retirement village in Wollert. Anyone free? Txt me 0455 476 555. $$.
Birds perching on factory walls can make a big mess. The bird droppings on the walls and on the cars and people below need to be stopped. We install wide stainless steel spikes, to stop them perching on those edges and ledges. Secured with a specially designed "glue", it is a quick and easy fix.
Solar panel cleaning is essential if you want your panels to produce power to their full potential. Whether you have 12 panels or 2,000 panels like this job, we can clean them with our de-ionised, filtered water system. On larger jobs we use these special rotating brushes. If you are not generating as much power as before, it could be time to get them cleaned.
Vesper Dve Narre Warren & Bunjil Place, there are a couple of hundred more seagulls coming to a roof near you. If you or someone you know has a factory near Vesper Dve, let them know that we can help them with their seagull problem. They nest under air cond units or under solar panels, they regurgitate chicken bones on the roof, which is acidic and can damage the roof. The mess they make with their nests, eggs, dead birds and the mess on the solar panels is disgusting!
We have just installed mesh around the solar panels at Autobarn in Fountain Gate, and now this netting to keep them off the solar in Vesper Dve. *I see that Swan Plumbing has also installed elevated netting recently.
*remember that we need a permit to touch any seagull nests, eggs, chicks etc as they are protected. It is best to get on top of this problem before it gets out of control.
When you just have to get the job done before you run out of light! Three stories up, flat roof, hundreds of pigeons. These buildings have flood problems and blocked gutters due to pigeon droppings, nests, dead birds etc. After pressure cleaning the roofs, we got the net up before the pigeons came home.
This Port Melbourne roof has recently had solar panels installed. The seagulls have taken over already and are breeding out of control. We have suggested "Flock Off" or Netting as a possible solution. Hopefully the customer realises how bad their problem is, otherwise things are going to get pretty messy! The video shows the noise and the mess they are creating.
Father & Daughter team! Courtney cleaning inside, Craig on the outside duties.
Flock Off works so well. Here is a recent job in Dandenong.
What to do when the pigeons just won't go away?
Some customers suffer badly with endless pigeons occupying their roof. The noise, the smell, the mess! Unfortunately, sometimes we have no choice but to trap and remove them. Mesh keeps them out from under the solar panels, that works 100%, but all other deterrents are less reliable. Dealing with nature, some work, some don't. Trapping is effective and humane. *traps must contain food, water and shade, and be checked at least once every 24 hours.
Trapping is not something we like to do, however the pigeons are considered feral and sometimes there is no choice.
Two more "Flock Off" systems installed. One in a delivery dock underground carpark, the other on a huge factory roof in the country. Both had big pigeon problems! Check out the pigeons on the last photo, patiently waiting on the far building, ready to come back home!
Stainless steel - only the best at Bird Proof Solar. Stainless steel mesh (1mm thick), Stainless steel clips, not plastic, not steel, not galvanised steel, not plastic coated steel, nothing but STAINLESS STEEL. If you want it to last, you need stainless steel. It costs a few bucks more, but it's worth it.
Spikes! They are not the prettiest thing to have on the roof, but they do stop the birds from nesting and perching in all the wrong spots. Bird crap on the roof, the car or the path can be dealt with by stopping the birds from perching on TV antennas or roof lines. They can also help prevent nesting under air conditioning units.
Another D.I.Y disaster (hopefully not a pest control company?) Installing the mesh is tougher than you might think. Please use stainless steel, not plastic, not galvanised steel, and definitely don't leave the mesh above the height of the panels on the low side, that will just catch leaves and all sorts of muck! Times are tough, but it's better to get the job done properly, even if it costs a few extra bucks.
I suggested to this customer (a) get your tiles repaired and (b) don't use the same guy that his neighbour used!
405 solar panels now bird proofed in Port Melbourne. 750m of stainless steel mesh, and 1,500 clips. This customer was smart and got the mesh installed right away, before the birds took hold. ounce of prevention..!
