📘 Donor Profiles 📘

There are two different types of donor profiles available on Eeve including:

⭐️ Basic donor profile ⭐️
A basic donor profile is a piece of information about the donor that is visible to users who haven’t created an account with us. This information includes eye and hair colour, height, ethnicity and occupation.

⭐️ Extended donor profile ⭐️
An extended donor profile is a much more in-depth look at each donor and includes information such as personality type, interests and hobbies, detailed medical history, and much more.

What is required to become a donor egg recipient?

Once you have registered with us and selected your egg donor preferences, you will receive an email with useful information on what will happen next. Our friendly staff will give you a call or email to organise everything for you. If you are a new patient, we will:

⭐️Book a medical consultation
⭐️Book pathology collection
⭐️Counselling
⭐️Patient education

Looking to conceive a sibling pregnancy with the same donor? 🤔

You have a couple of options.

☝️ If a local donor was used, we can reach out to them to see if they would be willing to re-donate.
✌️ If your donor is from one of our overseas providers, we can reach out to the egg bank to see what remaining stock they have available.

Who can be an egg donor? 🤔

Local donors recruited through Egg Donors Australia, can donate their eggs if they meet these criteria:

Aged 18-32 if clinic recruited. Egg donors over 32 will not be accepted for clinic-recruited donations.
✔️Healthy with no history of genetic disease. Donors will not be accepted if they suffer from an illness, disease or inherited condition that can be passed on to a child conceived from their donation.
✔️Donors who can provide their family medical history. If married or in a de facto relationship, the partner must consent to the donation.
✔️Donors must have a permanent address and be contactable for follow-up medical tests. They are required to provide three identifiers and proof of a permanent address, e.g. driver’s licence, photo ID and passport.
✔️Clinic-recruited egg donors must be eligible for full Medicare benefits in Australia.

Shipping eggs from overseas? Need assurance they'll be safe? We've got you. 🙌

Eggs and embryos are cryopreserved (frozen) using a special technique called “vitrification” which uses a rapid cooling process to reduce damage to the cell(s). They are stored in liquid nitrogen at -196C. There is no evidence to show that shipping between clinics or from overseas will have any effect on egg or embryo quality.

Let's talk about counselling! 🙋

Counselling sessions are a mandatory requirement for people/couples/individual who are considering using donated eggs. The purpose of these sessions is to provide information to the recipient(s) to particularly consider the psychosocial aspects of receiving donated gametes, how this may impact them and any future offspring, and strategies to deal with these impacts.

Two counselling sessions are arranged for recipients and their partners (if applicable). This will be scheduled at the counsellor’s discretion. You may also schedule further appointments with the counsellors to discuss questions or concerns at any stage of the treatment process. Counsellors are here to support you and help you identify which strategies suit you best.

When should I order donor eggs? 🤔

Your order should be arranged at least three weeks prior to the expected treatment date. We are not able to guarantee the completion and delivery of orders placed later than this.

Please note you must have seen one of our fertility specialists and register as a patient with one of our clinics before you are able to reserve donor eggs, and there are a number of steps involved to ensure that you are fully ready to begin treatment.

We suggest you do a broad search first to keep your options open.
Start the process by filtering egg donor details such as eye colour, hair colour, ancestry or height.

After you’ve reduced the range of egg donors that fit your individual needs, you may then save your favourite egg donors to begin looking at their extended profiles. Once you’ve found your egg donor match, you can request the eggs and we’ll be here to get you started straight away.

Where do Eeve egg donors come from?🤔

Eeve Donor Bank offers clinic-recruited donors both locally, recruited through our partner company Egg Donors Australia, and overseas, from The World Egg and S***m Bank and Genesis International Egg and S***m Centre.

Choosing a local or an overseas donor depends largely on your individual preferences and donor egg availability. For instance, if your ethnic background is especially valuable to you, you may start by narrowing the egg donor selection down to egg donors with the same ancestry.

Eeve Donor Bank endorses the right of persons born from donated eggs to know the details of their genetic origins; therefore we adhere to the NHMRC’s Guidelines for the release of donor’s identifying information. The donor identities are not otherwise disclosed to recipients.

There are two main types of donors in egg donation! 👯

Known donor
This is where a sister, relative, or friend is prepared to undergo IVF procedures to provide eggs to the recipient. The advantages of having a known donor are that the genetic origin of the eggs is known and the waiting time for the treatment can be significantly reduced.

Clinic-recruited donor
This is where individuals voluntarily undergo IVF procedures to provide eggs for other individuals or couples altruistically. In the case of clinic-recruited donation, the recipient does not know the donor, and the donor’s identity may remain unknown to the recipient. A donor must, however, agree to release identifying information to a donor-conceived child once they reach 18 years of age or a sufficient maturity.

All Eeve donors are clinically recruited.
