Presenting a $122,500 cheque to the Australian Lions Foundation – what an incredibly special moment 🎉💙
Just over a year ago, I announced my goal of running the World’s Highest Marathon and raising $120,000 for the life-changing work of the Australian Lions Foundation’s Compassionate Fund.
The journey to this moment was a massive team effort, and I am incredibly grateful for the support that made it possible.
A special thanks to a few of the champions behind this mammoth fundraising effort.
Jo OBrien and the kids and staff at Platinum Pre School – thank you so much for the great BBQ fundraisers, fun runs, and donations.
Thank you to all Lions and Lions Clubs who supported the fundraiser.
G*e Bergin and Henry Burgoyne from Sydney Seaside Lions, as well as all the clubs involved in the Eastern Suburbs Trivia Night - thank you!
To everyone at my own club Coogee Lions Club but particularly our Treasurer Chris!
Reg Walker from Lions Club of Lugarno and of course Elvio Munzone – words cannot express how grateful I am for all of your support in helping reach my goal and supporting me along the way.
Pat Farmer: Ultramarathon Runner , thank you for hitting the trails with me, mentoring me on running for a cause and for helping host a special fundraiser lunch at NSW Parliament House.
Lauren at Liquid Promotions , thank you for the fabulous training singlets. Danny Loch and the team at Gasoline, and of course LJ Loch and Team Alpha, your ongoing support and patience with all my Everest marathon fundraising and running chat in the office is so appreciated.
A special shoutout to the media superstars who helped spread the word of the fundraiser, especially Aymon Bertah and Daniel Doody.
And to the "absolute ledge" Nikolay Petrovskiy for all of the runs and great videos.
Lastly, to all my friends and family who have supported me with all of the ups and downs along the way, this simply would not have been possible without you!
This journey really does highlight the power of teamwork and community. Together, we can be so proud as these funds will change the lives of many in need. Thank you again and well done everyone ❤️

One of the ways you can help is by looking out for your mates and being willing to start a conversation with them about mental health. 💬
Whether it’s with a friend, family member or colleague, opening up about mental health can help people feel supported and confident that they can share their thoughts and feelings, especially during tough times. It might just be the first step to getting further help if they need it.
Head to our blog for more details on how to have these conversations: https://www.health.qld.gov.au/newsroom/features/how-to-have-a-conversation-with-a-mate-about-mental-health
