Diwali or Deepavali, means ‘row of lights’ in India’s most ancient language, Sanskrit. This festival marks the start of the Hindu calendar year and is celebrated with lights (diyas) and fireworks.

As many Western Australians look forward to re-uniting with family and friends this Diwali and in the near future, we must ensure we protect ourselves and others.

There will be many events and gatherings taking place in the lead up to Diwali next week. When gathering at mandirs (places of worship) or melas (festivals):

🔸 Maintain physical distancing, where possible
🔸 Practise healthy hygiene habits and wash hands regularly
🔸 Stay at home if you are unwell
🔸 Get tested if symptomatic and self-isolate when waiting for results

HEDLAND NAVRATRI 2020 CELEBRATION SCHEDULE

Namaskar All Members,

Dear all community members as we all know that we have been invited by Karratha Indian community for upcoming Navaratri festival. They have invited us on Friday the 23rd October 2020.

We are planning to accomodate a bus to travel Karratha. For that we need to have exact numbers from community members in order to organise travel facility and food arrangements.

Depends on the response from the community

Please come at 1 Lawson street parking area from 4PM. We will depart at 4.30 PM for Karratha.

Please note that we are leaving Karratha to come back home on the same night around 10.30 PM*. (* = approximate, time may vary and depend on the circumstances).

Booking is on the, ''first come first serve basis’’. We have a passenger seat capacity of 56. Once we reach to this limit, all additional booking will be held in waiting list which will be confirmed against cancellation.
