Well those of you that attended the Charters Towers Rodeo on Saturday night may have heard an announcement that after some consideration, we have made a decision to close down the rural store side of our business.

Willoughby Rural has been a great family business and we have enjoyed our almost 6 years, however we have business and family interests in other areas which need to take precedence in our lives at this point in time.

The business has been for sale for a while with much interest, but unfortunately the lease of the current premises is non-renewable and to be able to upgrade premises wasn’t optional as there was no suitable premises in town to move the business into. We thank everyone for their enquiries and suggestions.

We will be holding on-going specials and discounts to clear stock. Please come and continue your support in helping us achieve this in a timely manner, and save some $$ at the same time! Specials will be advertised on facebook each week.

Once again, thank you all so so much for your loyalty and support! We will be sad to not see a lot of you on a daily/weekly/regular basis, however we will be still in the area and will see you all around town and at events I’m sure!

Camping is welcome but up near the arena again, no power so please bring your own! I will be there to unlock at 4pm Saturday if you wish to put your horses in the back yards!

𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗥 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗣𝗘𝗧𝗜𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗦: Dress Rules – Members competing at ABHA affiliated events/exhibitions must wear suitable button up long-sleeved shirt, western hat/current Australian Standards helmet (No Caps), boots and jeans in the arena at all times. They must be neat and presentable. Please note that fishing shirts are not accepted.

Not long now until our first round so just wanted to refresh everyone’s minds

Nominations open 19th February and close 29th February

Entry fees must be paid by 29th at 7pm

No entrys on the day will be taken

Camping is welcome the Saturday night free of charge. CTCA will be covering this cost! So please be respectful and clean up after yourself so we can keep it free and no extra cost has to be passed onto you the competitors !

Please remember if you haven’t already please pay your Memberships, if you are unsure if you have done it or not you can check and pay online at the ABHA website.

Below you will find ground rules and a canteen list, please feel to bring your own food and drink if you wish but please NO GLASS!!

4 lt has 10mm foam for when she’s rolling around the back of the Ute. And the 1lt made to sit on the back of the customers saddle.

Now the dust has settled and I’ve had time to catch up on everything I just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone-

Thank you to the NBPE for having us again for your Saturday night entertainment, thank you to everyone that came out and supported and cheered us on.

Thank you to the competitors for all showcasing our sport to the best of our ability and showing nothing but class all night long!

To our sponsors none of this is possible without you - all year long you keep this club going and capable of putting on a great show every time and thank you doesn’t show how much your support means to us all,

To full noise production- I couldn’t recommend a business more highly, from the set up to the the most basic detail you didn’t miss a beat, thank you for taking our show and turning it into a fun family friendly investment for everyone to bop away to while Tate kept us up to date on what was next!

Lazy G Roping thank you for all your hard work, the calf were perfect and everyone had an even chance of roping every round!

Last but definitely not least thank you to anyone that volunteered your time, this truly could not have happened without your time, being on a gate, picking up drums, bringing cattle up , letting cattle out, taking ropes off , keep cattle looking , flagging and time keeping, these are all jobs that no one ever wants to do but someone had to do it and we are so thankful for your time.
