Just hoping on to remind and let everyone know while MJ is still off recovering his wife (me) Tegan is on emails. Responses may be a bit delayed, your patience is so appreciated during this time

Hi everyone this is Tegz, MJs wife again. MJ has asked me to put an update up about how he is going. He has said his work community is like his second family and he has a lot friends so thought you should be updated. MJ also wanted me to give you guys some more info about the accident.
So for those of you who don’t know on Tuesday 21st 2 stone slabs fell onto MJ. MJ has suffered some memory loss from the injury and there was no witnesses so we don’t know the circumstances surrounding how they fell onto MJ. He is doing very well all things considering. He sustained a brain bleed and was placed in an induced coma with multiple skull fractures. It was touch and go to start with but once MJ was stable the big concern was when he came out of the coma we didn’t know what cognitive and physical functions would be impaired, but luck struck again and not just did MJ survive but woke up as good as we could ever of hoped for. MJ woke up with post traumatic amnesia which we had no idea how long would last & ended up being about a week. We are all feeling very lucky with how well MJ is going and very thankful for all the amazing support from everyone around us.
MJ is going better then any one expected, it was still a very very nasty accident and he has a very long way to go down the recovery road but the good news is the doctors now think against all odds he will make a full recovery. With MJ’s fractures and head injuries still healing and with the nature and intensity of our work it means that mj most likely won’t be back to full capacity for at least 12 months if not even longer. MJ is not allowed to get back to doing paper work and quotes just yet so thank you all for your patience in waiting and we will get back to everyone as soon as we can.

MJ has asked if you are waiting on quotes or have jobs that need doing coming up if you can please get in touch as he is worried that he doesn’t want to forget about anyone with everything that happened. He is also excited to hopefully start getting out about and seeing everyone soon.

Sorry for such a long post but MJ just really wanted everyone to be up to date and know what was going on as he normally prides him self on getting everything done in a timely manner.

We received a call late Friday arvo that a couple on the Block was looking for a stone mason to complete a fireplace the following day. Bit of a squeeze but we made it work and Saturday worked 7am through until 11pm

We have been pretty busy behind the scenes lately, keep an eye on The Block on Chanel 9 to see why

For fireplace Friday we are taking it back to MJ’s first full brick fireplace from trade school in 2013!

We also specialize in intricate brick work. The owners of this job were architects and they had designed a stunning house with some very cool brick work. The owners had a very strong vision and we worked together to bring their vision to life with a few modifications to their plans which in the end finished this job off seamlessly.

The owners them self had this to say.

They turned a pile of recycled cream bricks into highly detailed architectural screens and a feature fireplace that truly shine on our coastal site. This week for fire place Friday we have a brick fire place with a full brick chimney using reclaimed cream bricks with a slanted wall and surrounded by hit and miss brick work. The stainless steel bench features a built in BBQ as well. This was designed as a feature being visible from inside and creating an inviting outside entertaining area

Today is 7 years since my dad big Domma passed away and a couple days ago was 2 years since my Nonno passed away. These 2 men are greatly missed but I want to take this time to thank them for being amazing role models and shaping me into the person I am personally but also in business. Both of them had there own business and worked extremely hard. They both gave me a good work ethic but were also both very focused on quality and doing the best they could by there clients. Even though dad was not in the building industry he always had a passion for it. He always taught me to push my self to be the best I could be. He was always trying to find a niche which defiantly wore off on me and why I didn’t just stop at being a bricklayer and wanted to hone my skills to become a stone mason and take on any intricate bricklaying I could. He really did show me no challenge is too big. My Nonno also defiantly wore off on me with his love for building being a carpenter and builder I always wanted to follow in his foot steps and be in the building industry like most of my family. The whole family defiantly got that from him even the ones who don’t work in the industry still have passion and love for building. You will always both be loved and missed. You were taken to soon but I will always be great full and thankful for the things you taught me and for the way you shaped me. Callea stone masonry wouldn’t be what it is if I didn’t have you guys as my role models.

Cracked this open tonight to toast Shane Warne, a legend that will be missed. I’ve had this in the cupboard and was waiting for the right time to open it tonight is defiantly that time. You are my favorite sporting person and I have always looked up to you
