Reposted from It’s hard not to be upset by rolling media coverage of unfolding tragedy, and if we’re being honest, it’s felt like the last 2’ish years have been rolling media coverage of ongoing unfolding tragedy.

Much like the quote that we all always hear about when a new tragedy unfolds says, “look for the helpers” [during a crisis] … and we woke up this morning to a meme shared by our Social Media Strategist, and it was calling for people to book Ukrainian-based AirBnB’s [it’s our understanding that AirBnB is waiving host fees for all Ukrainian hosts].
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This morning? We booked x2 AirBnB’s on behalf of TDP, and we made sure that we deliberately booked BIPOC hosts when we were booking our own “accommodation stays” due to the horrifying stories of racism coming out of the Ukraine at the moment.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

This is obviously not a lot. We wish we could do more. But whilst we’re limited financially ourselves [somewhat], we know we can book accommodation as per the above x2 images … but we *also* know we can use our “influence” here to encourage this movement.

Log onto AirBnB, and there are overnight’ers you can book for between $30-50AUD, if you have an amount like that spare [$30-50 would make the biggest difference to a person in a war ravaged country right now].
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And - if this makes you feel a teeny bit better - when we logged onto AirBnB to do just this this morning? … you could almost hardly book accom. For March/April, so let’s keep booking and watch everything book out for months ahead.
