Brilliant day at South Australian Social Enterprise Council’s, Social Traders Australia, and Collab4Good’s
I was privileged to share the panel with some amazing individuals who have incredible businesses. Sarah from Gogo Foundation PR, Brett from Australian Dental Foundation, Peter from Torrens University Australia, and Bianca Stawiarski from Warida Wholistic Wellness. Bianca and I also spoke about BilaEmpower
Topic of panel was overcoming challenges of scaling purpose driven social enterprises.
Looking forward to this vital conference
I have been saying this for a while. If you look at the first horric stat there is an inference that links First Nation s men to the violence but a lot of non First Nations men are partnered to First Nations women that in its self creates and a bias in services . I worked with a family a few years back and no matter what I said it was the woman that was the violent one according to DCP. He was White and was quiet and spoke very well ( that is what services saw) his partner saw another side. In that case he was ignored by services and naturally was elevated by those services as her saviour, lucky he acknowledged he had the issue . Any violence toward anyone is unacceptable.
Aboriginal victims are being wrongly arrested and accused of family violence Aboriginal women were 45 times more likely than non-Aboriginal women to experience family violence, likely at the hands of white men, the Yoorrook Justice Commission has heard.

What a massive day, it’s such a privilege to support the incredible men I support. Big reflections today from all. Some days it like this sone days it’s not but it’s always at the supported persons pace. Finished the day with some big emotions from a young g fella and an amazing realisation from him that he needs to tell his dad that he is proud of him for keeping him safe. Exhausted but so worth it. I knew the day was going to be ok when we had a visit first session.
Tune in to Strait Talk with Tod Stokes on May 29th at 10AM AEDT for a captivating episode featuring Derrick McManus, former police officer and human durability expert. Don't miss his incredible insights on survival and resilience!
