We're pleased to share the fixtures and * updated * team sheets for Saturday's Hockey5s pre-season carnival in Warrnambool.
Junior Mixed and Senior Mixed draws are both accessible via this single link with games from 10am.

Participants must be registered for the 2023 season with Hockey Victoria to play (ie. to be insured). See other Facebook posts for links.
The Hockey Centre will be open from 8.30am and families and participants are invited to come down early for a warm up, hot coffee or chocolate and ask questions of the carnival co-ordinators.
Juniors -
🏑 remember a mouth guard and shin guards (we can lend shin guards).
🏑 We have a last minute team entry from Hamilton and to avoid having 7 teams we folded the kids previously assigned to Flagstaff into other teams to stay at 6 teams.

Volunteers
We would appreciate umpires to help with the junior games and assist in the canteen or other duties where needed. Just ask for Anthony or Paul.

Missing hockey? Looking for a pre-season opportunity to blow out some rust, reconnect with teammates or try Hockey5s?
Hockey South West is hosting the first annual GREAT SOUTH COAST Hockey5s Carnival on 25/26 March in Warrnambool. It's also an opportunity to honour the memory of a giant of regional hockey, Annie Anderson, who we lost in 2022.
Seven sections - under 12 mixed, under 14 mixed, under 16 mixed, under 18 mixed, Open Women, Open Men, and Masters Mixed (35+).
All you have to do is complete the expression of interest by Friday 17 March at www.greatsouthcoast.hockey and someone from your association or Hockey South West will be in touch about forming teams.

We're looking forward to getting back on the field and locking in our team lists for the new season. But before we get serious, let's get back on the pitch and have some fun.
Social 5s for new players and families from 6pm. Turn up at 5:45pm and join or create a team.
At 7pm, we get a bit more serious for those keen to get a bit of white line fever out of the system. Turn up at 6:45 and draw straws.

Do you have used hockey gear you no longer need?
Thank you to Bec Dumesny who now lives in Geelong but saw Sunday's post and contacted us to donate a tonne of gear back. Giving "pre-loved" gear to new players makes our sport more affordable and accessible to people taking their first steps in hockey!
We'd be grateful if past players (and parents of past players) could check garages and cupboards for hockey gear they no longer need and consider donating back to Hockey South West. We're interested in sticks, shin guards, training bibs (especially green and gold ones from past Hookin2Hockey classes), kids Hockey Australia backpacks, hockey gloves, defender masks, training equipment, even old junior/senior uniforms - we'll take them all. Past uniforms will come in handy for new teams.
Feel free to drop donated items down to the hockey pavilion between 9-10am on Saturday 4, 11 or 18 March or bring them to pre-season hockey Wednesday nights in March. Contact Paul on 0473069755 if you have any questions or want to arrange an alternative time to drop off.

We're interested in sticks, shin guards, training bibs (especially green and gold ones from past Hookin2Hockey classes), kids Hockey Australia backpacks, hockey gloves, defender masks, training equipment, even old junior/senior uniforms - we'll take them all.
"Pre-loved" sticks, shin guards and training bibs will be useful for clinics as well as to lend or give to new junior and senior players taking their first steps in our sport to keep down the start up costs of playing hockey. Past uniforms will come in handy for new teams.
