I was shocked to hear that this young lad was coward punched and bashed in Albury NSW over the weekend in a completely unprovoked attack. He is now in The Alfred hospital and has been in an induced coma.
I have know Will and his family for several years and all I can say is that Will is such a gentle and kind young man, and he should have been safe to walk home after a night out.
Luckily the attack was captured on CCTV and those responsible have been arrested. But that doesn’t solve the underlying issue. Our nation has a serious problem with violence, our police and court system need to get better at supporting victims of violence and should be enforcing harsher penalties for the cowards who commit these abhorrent acts of violence.
Please share this post and talk about this issue amongst your colleagues, friends and family, especially with your sons. Young Australians need to understand that violence is never ok and one punch can kill!

In Australia we place a great deal of respect and honour on our sporting heros and heroins. We name in their honour public swimming pools, stadiums, arenas and other such adulation.
So when these people decide to put out vile and hateful comments, commit violent crimes (in the case of an elite swimmer recently), take drugs, get drunk and defecate in hotel stairways or other abhorrent actions, the public has ever right to feel betrayed, outraged and call them to account.
The very recent comments made from someone who used to be a good tennis player once are hurtful, hate filled and homophobic. And know that I am very careful to call anyone homophobic.
Her comments are un-Christian and selective at best. Her insistence to focus only on people who are gay, le***an or transgendered, based on what is 'said in the Bible', demonstrates that she is a hypocrite of the highest order. For if we are to use the words in the Bible as a guide for morality and the basis for law making in this country the following should be applied with equal measure: abolition of divorce, the suppression of women (as they are not to rule over men or become preachers), polygamy, public stoning, slavery, state sanctioned r**e and other practices that civilisation rightly banned long ago.
The call to rename an arena in Melbourne are justified and warranted given that this person has so blatantly betrayed the trust and respect we put in her. Her name now represents intolerance, hatred and bigotry and she has soiled her reputation with her words. Her ability to hit a ball over a net better than someone else should not be the only reason the keep the name of this arena, and I think that there are many other talented Australians who deserve this adulation much more than she does.

It is time for the Victorian Labor Government to take some serious action on crime.
Both Labor and Liberal Ministers and Shadow Ministers have been pointing at each other to blame for the VET FEE HELP mess. No one has taken any responsibility for the debacle.

There are some who call themselves 'Progressive' and yet there is nothing progressive about them. And there are some who call themselves 'Conservative', but they do not hold dear any true conservative values.
It's important to look at not only what people say but what they do.
I am genuinely really sad to be listening to Tony Delroy's last night on 'The Night Life'. He has been a constant evening companion to millions of Australians for more than 25 years. Although I've never met him I feel like I know him well and will miss calling out answers to his Nightlife-Challenge. Have a great retirement Tony.

Labor have announced their shadow cabinet. They've split the portfolio of Vocational Education/TAFE with Skills & Apprentices - one would have thought they go hand-in-hand.
And why would you have a federal Shadow Minister for TAFE when the Commonwealth does not own or operate a single TAFE?
Labor announces Kate Ellis as Shadow Minister for Vocational Education and Training, and TAFE. Labor has announced its new front bench and named Kate Ellis as the new Shadow Minister for Vocational Education and Training, and TAFE.
Congratulations on the new role as Assistant Minister for and Karen Andrews MP!

Why would Labor oppose good policy? Because they wouldn't know what good policy looks like.
Australia needs to invest in from MEL-CBR-SYD-BRI.
We are young and developing as a nation, yet we are rapidly falling behind our neighbouring south east asia nations. The current travel between the capital cities up and down the is almost beyond capacity and the demand continues to grow rapidly as our capital cities expand.
The time to show leadership, invest in our nation and build confidence is now.

Very pleased with the result of the preselection of Tim Wilson for Goldstein.
Well done also to Jeremy Samuel and Georgina Downer on a great performance.
I'm amazed at how many elected officials (and wanna be elected) rely on the media as their sole source of information. One sensationalist headline and they jump on the bandwagon. Do some research guys........ stop being lazy.
Thank you to Michael Kroger & David Davis who were here to support Owen Guest in his bid to win Melbourne Ports. Great evening with good Liberals who are keen to see a change in this electorate.
I think the only thing that the investigation into the Safe Schools Coalition program will find is that it is grossly underfunded.
