Time to go back and visit the wombats!!!!

06/06/2022

Let’s go to dinner local!!!
Thanks Brad! 🙂.

Did you know that you can still get 25% back on your dining bill if you visit a local restaurant between Monday to Thursday?

All you have to do is spend more than $40 in a single purchase and upload an itemised receipt through the link: https://bit.ly/VicDiningEntertainment

This is a chance to try some of the great local restaurants that our area has to offer all at a significant discount. That could be the difference between ordering the steak instead of the parma at the pub!

Lol!! So true….

Wombats rule… that is all….

This is simply reprehensible! For years we have taken guests to visit these guys in St Kilda. They do nothing but live theirs lives and are adorable to watch. I hope they find these scumbags. But then what? A fine? no jail time? Make the consequence real for this type of behavior.

You've probably seen the reports by now.

Over the weekend, a little penguin was captured, thrown against a wall and kicked to death in St Kilda.

This is a disgraceful and heartbreaking crime.

Like all of you, I want justice for this penguin, and all of the other animals who suffer abuse like this.

The Conservation Regulator and Crime Stoppers are looking to identify 5 men. There is more information here: https://www.theage.com.au/politics/victoria/five-men-sought-after-st-kilda-little-penguin-thrown-kicked-before-death-20211105-p596hw.html

If you have seen something, please say something.

And share this image to spread the word.

Heading in the right direction ya’ll! Go get the jab if you can! 🙂

: Victoria records 45 new local COVID cases.

MORE: https://ab.co/3msgbYH

Just 17 of the new cases were in quarantine while infectious, and 36 of the cases have been linked to existing outbreaks.

The results were detected from among 53,321 test results processed on Tuesday, when 31,629 vaccine doses were delivered at state-run sites.

From this morning, 450,000 first-dose Pfizer appointments have been made available through state-run vaccination hubs, as eligibility for Pfizer expands to those aged 18-39.

People in that age bracket can also receive AstraZeneca, while those aged 16 and 17 are only eligible for Pfizer.

It's World Day for Laboratory Animals.

And while there is so much work to be done in this space, we're making good progress on getting a right to release for lab animals here in Victoria.

BREAKING: Companion animals to be recognised as victims of family violence in Victoria!

My family violence and animals motion has PASSED parliament unanimously just now.

The government has made a commitment to ensure more robust protections for animals in situations of family violence.

We will also work on a system to ensure pets are removed from perpetrators, defaulting to the victim survivors of family violence, should they wish to leave with them.

This is a huge step towards removing one of the biggest barriers to women leaving a violent home.

I want to make a particular thanks to my female staff, some of whom are pictured here with me. We know that family violence disproportionately impacts women - and this powerhouse team of women has worked so hard on this win today.

To give my US friends and family and idea of how we do things Down Under...

: From 11:59pm tonight, Victoria will return to COVIDSafe settings 👇🏼

😷 Masks will be only be required on public transport, in rideshare vehicles and taxis, in sensitive settings such as aged care facilities – and in some larger retail settings including indoor shopping centres, supermarkets, department stores, indoor markets.

🏡 30 people can visit per day

☀️ Outdoor gatherings in public places increased to 100 people

💻 75 per cent of office workers across both public and private sectors from can return to work

🍴 Density limits in pubs, restaurants and cafes will remain at 1 person per 2sq metres for both indoors and outdoors with no other cap, so long as electronic record keeping – a QR code – is used. For small operations, there'll be no density limits if the patron number is under 25 and they will still be required to keep records.

💇🏼‍♂️For beauty services, businesses remain at 1 person per 2sq metres – if they also introduce electronic record keeping. For businesses where that's not possible, density limits of 1 person per 4 sq metres will apply.
Retail businesses also remain at 1 person per 2sq metres and electronic record keeping is recommended where practical.

💒 Funerals and weddings are subject to a density limit of 1 person per 2sq metres. The same rules will apply to nightclubs and our community facilities, like our libraries, RSLs, and community halls.

💪🏻 In gyms, the density limit remains 1 per 4sq metres – with exercise classes limited to 50 indoors and 100 outdoors.
