Only two weeks until the 2024 Australian Nationals in Perth, WA.

Main competition will be on Saturday 13th at Frye Park in Kelmscott
Accuracy, Australian Round, Endurance, Fast Catch, MTA & Trick Catch/Doubling.
First event starting at 8:30.

Sunday Funday 14th from 9am
Please Note: Field change to Rushton Park in Kelmscott.
Throw Stick, Games and General Public welcome to come learn how to throw. Followed by Presentation.

We will have throwers joining us from Queensland, Victoria and Western Australia.

Wow! Go Rachel, BoomerGal USA. Some great throwing and the recent US Nationals. Future of our sport right there, hope to throw with you some time soon.

Check it out! I was lucky to be chosen to be on the Australian team for the 1st Australia vs India comp.

You know what that means, I got to meet some of the Indian BoomerGals. And wow there are some great throwers. And India also had BoomerGal representation on the team. Vinodhini (Left) has a great strong controlled throw. Once home I will be sending some boomerangs over to add her kit.

Je n’ai gagné aucune épreuve mais je suis restée constante dans mes performances.
Je suis fière du travail accomplis et du soutiens de tous mes proches et de mes amis lanceurs.

Merci à vous tous qui m’avait encouragé sur cette compétition mais surtout depuis toutes ces années à vos côtés.

Si je suis arrivée là ce n’est pas qu’une simple passion, c’est du travail, de la persévérance et des encouragements.

J’ai vécu cette compétition comme la confirmation de ma performance aux championnats du monde à Bordeaux.

Please note the Official and Open Ranking will vary as International teams are unable to qualify for official ranking placements as only teams from Countries with 4 or more players are able to win. I have given results for the Open Ranking as it would not be fair to not show everyone's achievements.

TRICK CATCH/DOUBLING
2 rounds, 1st round One boomerang, 10 different catches, points based on difficulty of catch. Round 2, Throw TWO boomerangs at the same time and make a variety of the same catches.
The below order is for the 1st round.
Left Hand Clean, Right Hand Clean, Two Hands Behind the Back, Two hands Under the Leg, Eagle Catch, Hacky Catch, Tunnel Catch, One Hand Behind the Back, One Hand Under the Leg and then Foot Catch.

TEAM SUPER CATCH
This team event combines Fast Catch & MTA (see previous posts for event description)
The goal is to have one main MTA thrower, once they have launched their MTA the 3 fast catch throwers need to make as many catches as possible before the MTA is caught. For catches to count the MTA must be caught within the set boundary.

TEAM TAPIR TERROR RELAY
Four team members run a relay style race from the 20m circle into the 2m circle with each thrower executing varying tasks made up of a combination of Accuracy, Trick Catch, and Fast Catch. The objective is to accomplish all tasks in the shortest time possible or to accomplish as many of those tasks as possible within a 6-minute time limit.

I couldn't find a video of this event, so I attached the West Aussies having a go at the virtual Team Baby Terror, similar rules but a shorter version (Accuracy, Trick Catch, Fast Catch, Trick Catch, Accuracy). So proud of our effort all parts completed successfully. 😁 Check out two West Aussie BoomerGals both getting a perfect 10 each for each throw!

MTA RELAY, one of the newest teams event. Four team members throw MTA boomerangs in succession, each throw being executed before the previous boomerang is caught. The event consists of 4 timed laps. The first 3 laps begin at the release of each boomerang and ends with the release of the next boomerang. The final lap starts at the release of the 4th boomerang and ends when it is caught or ends at the 50s limit. Therefore, the maximum achievable time is 200 seconds.

TEAM 30M RELAY. 2 teams throw at a time from the 4m centre circle, the boomerang must have a 30m range. Throwers take turns to run to the centre circle, throw, and after a catch is made tag the next thrower, miss the catch and you throw again, drop or catch your 2nd throw you can tag, but if your boomerang doesn't make 30m you keep throwing until it does. The time is recorded after 2 turns of the 4 throwers or at 5mins if your team is still playing the number of catches are recorded.

FAST CATCH & MTA.
These two events are for the Individual competition, there are events for the teams which combine these and other elements.

One you need to complete as quick as you can and the other you want to take as long as you can.

Sharron Night from Melbourne was the first BoomerGal (female) to hold the Australian Junior Title.💁‍♀️

With a score or 75 out of a possible 160 for the General Competition - What we call Australian Round now. 🪃❤️🪃
