Health authorities across Australia are investigating three separate genetically related clusters of Listeria infection, including cases in Brisbane and on the Sunshine Coast. 🔍

It’s possible we’ll be notified of further cases as part of the outbreak. 📋

Listeria infection is an illness usually caused by eating foods contaminated by the Listeria monocytogenes bacteria.

We are investigating several potential food sources and results from testing are expected this week.

Symptoms of listeriosis:
➡️ can include fever, headache, muscle aches, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea and neck stiffness.
➡️ may appear within 24 hours of eating contaminated food but can take up to two months to develop.

If you are concerned you may have listeriosis:
