A little Laundry renovation project we completed last week in Clarence Park.
To be honest, laundries don’t have to be expensive.
The biggest hike in price when looking to renovate your laundry space is definitely the cabinetry.

It definitely feels as though encaustic look tiles are growing in popularity!
This customer wanted to drop the free standing bath for an inbuilt one, just to see the tiles carried up the bath sides.
I’m so excited to see this bathroom finished.
The shower screen and cornice are yet to be done, then almost handover time.

Keeping it simple ✖️
Simplicity was the brief for this bathroom project.
We worked with our customer to source white tiles and chrome, square tap ware for a simple design.
In this bathroom the wood grain vanity was the hero feature piece and the rest was left simple.
Our client can now mix up the style of the bathroom with decor accessories as styles change throughout the yearly seasons.

Let’s talk ‘rules’ for feature wall tiles ✖️
What’s the rule of thumb when it comes to the wall they should be installed on?
The fact is, there is no rule of thumb.
But there are two design suggestions I generally work off, when putting forward tiled feature wall options to clients.
Really though, it’s entirely your preference!
1. Use a feature tile on the wall your vanity and mirror are installed against. This can really top off your look if you’re aiming for the vanity and mirror to be the hero of your bathroom. This design works really well with a contrasting vanity and shaped mirror (like a circle or arch).
2. Install your preferred feature tile on the wall adjacent to the door. This can be a real wow factor when you walk into the room. This design works really well when the shower is also positioned adjacent to the bathroom door.

Today over on our stories I asked if you’d like to know my top 4 ways to renovate a STYLISH bathroom on a budget.
Let’s face it, bathrooms can be expensive.
Especially when your first investment should be a good quality vanity, which will set you back about $1K to $2K on its own.
And that’s before you’ve chosen anything else.
One way to achieve an on trend and modern look is to use Terrazzo look tiles.
Try using them as a cost effective feature tile alternative.
You can pick up Terrazzo look tiles for about $40 / $50 a square meter VS paying over $120 a square meter for other on trend feature tiles.
Pair these tiles with a grout colour the same colour as the tile for the appearance of large sections of polished concrete ✖️
