Blessing Of The Bikes

Ok people, happy to have comments on this page about Blessing of the Bikes being cancelled - but I am not going to allow people to make comments that are unfounded or their personal comments or attack on the charity on what we as a charity should and should not do. Yes I am going to make a few people unhappy that this event is not going ahead - but we asked for $5 entry and that was met with massive comments of "not paying that when it was free years ago". Times have changed the insurance to have this event has gone up massively into the thousands of dollars - who pays for that? The hire of venues - buying product/Tshirts patches and pins up front to sell that everyone wants and we always have stock left over and make a loss. Key board crap messages will be deleted as I dont need this nor is it going to make any change to what has happened.
If you are the expert in running motorcycle events and have all the answers and ways to make it happen - then you take it on and happy to chat - if not, be nice or dont write anything at all.
Yes it was good at San Remo and the Island was the perfect place - but we got kicked off the Island they did not want this event on their streets and roads being closed off - so we left. Geelong was great and the support was great but never the 6,000 to 7,000 bikes as it once was and that was a free event last year. Yet to make it happen with all the costs and red tape, no volunteers or major sponsors, what am I meant to do? Run a bike event and make a loss - not going to happen.

In these hard times we now have to cancelled the
Nagambie Blessing of the Bikes.
Geelong Blessing of the Bikes is full steam ahead for Sunday 27th October.

What a great day for Blessing of the Bikes in Nagambie - around 300+ bikes for the first year which is great support from all my fellow riders out there. Some photos attached.
We once again thank Easyriders National Chaplain Stephen Wade and his helpers who did a great job in Blessing every bike on the day. Dirty Rats what a great band for an event like this. If you have photos please post up. See you all next year in Nagambie for a bigger event again - we will have a date change as we seemed to have clashed with a few other events on this day.

4 days to go till Blessing of the Bikes Nagambie - as a heads up we will not have a lot of expo sites but the event is not about expo sites - the Band Dirty Rats will be belting out the tunes from 10am to 1pm - Easyriders Chaplain Steve and his great crew will be Blessing you and your bike on the day - lots of great food outlets in town and we are right on the main drag easy walking distance to them. The local CFA will be cooking up the BBQ and rattling a tin as well as our Zaidee's Donation Bins for a kind donation on the day would be appreciated. Blessing of the Bikes T-Shirts, Patches and Pins for sale in the Zaidee's Marque.
Ride safe people see ya on Sunday 9am to 2pm.
This is the grass spot we will be taking over for the event and the weather is looking great for a ride as well.

Our next Blessing of the Bikes is in Nagambie on Sunday 12th November. If you wish to ride in we are catering for those in Northern Victoria that could not get to Geelong. Easy ride from Melbourne up the Hume or take the back roads, another great day out with the crew I suggest. If you have not been to Nagambie as yet then lock this date in. Come support us once again.

Ok, Kim and I just lobbed back into Shepparton an hour ago and we are already planning for Sunday 27th Oct 2024. Note - Our Coffee van called to cancel at 8.45pm last night and we tried but was too late to book another, so next year we already have two coffee vans locked in. Food Trucks out front x 4 for sure - plus Big BBQ as we could not get anyone this year and we tried bloody hard. Already have locked a big BBQ in for 2024.
New parking theme down the Pier will be better for all and we will get more bikes on - Expo sites at end of the Pier giving more room for bike. Bigger Show and Shine for sure. Also to cover costs and make this bigger and better, looking at what we did last year in Cowes and seeking a kind $5 donation from each bike and gold coin from walk ups. It's about raising funds for Zaidee's as well as covering event costs which are very high. Hope the above agrees with everyone - I am always one to take good advice and listen to the riders to make it a bigger and better event for you and us. Cheers Allan and Kim. Zaidee's Proud Parents.

What a huge day it was down at Geelong for our 8th Blessing but Geelongs 1st Blessing and we will be back bigger and better in 2024.
Thank you to Geelong Harley-Davidson - SPOKES for their great sponsorship - to the rest of the site holders which I will name in another post and the volunteers and Chaplain Steve and his band of Blessing supported what a great job done today.
More so thank you to every rider that attended supported us to help promote organ and tissue donation and road safety today.

We think just over 2,000 bikes turned up on this great day.

The signs are up people for all to know what’s going up in Geelong.

We thank Stephen Wade National Easyriders Chaplain and his great support team to be Blessing every Motorcycle rider and their bikes as they ride into Blessing of the Bikes in Geelong this Sunday with holy water. Part of tradition that this event is all about. And then at 12pm Stephen will be holding a mass Blessing in front of the stage at the end of the Pier for all that wish to pay respect to lost ones be it on the road of in life.

Hi All, Please see a info about this Sundays event in Geelong. Note that the police will be out in force making sure everyone is riding safe as a huge heads up I have been informed. The Police are fully supportive of our event and we need to be riding safe to and from this event and please obey the road rules at all times to make sure we can come back in 2024.
Easy to find the Pier and enjoy the event.

Yes its a free event but a kind donation in the red bins does help pay for it to run.

Blessing of the Bikes Geelong is coming around very fast on Sunday 29th October.
Tell your friends - share this post - make sure everyone knows about it. This year is going to be huge aiming at 5,000 motorcycle to support this one day event.
