Ben Grozier - Your Northern Beaches Independent Team
Your Northern Beaches Team candidate - Curl Curl Ward.
5 months ago, I did not think I would be writing a thank you message after wrapping up an election campaign!
I feel outrageously lucky to work with and be in the company of some awesome people. The are yet another group of humans straight out of the top drawer.
I’ve learnt so much, made new friends and been completely overwhelmed by the support of the team, my friends and family.
THANKS TO ALL OF YOU ❤️🧡❤️🧡
Some of us are marathon runners, sprinters and others shot putters.
Among us are an Aged Care Exec, a Uni Student, a Bus Driver, a Writer, many Small Business Owners, Surf Life Saving Managers, Domestic Violence Charity Leader, Environmental Activists, Unicef Australia COO and Federal Customer Service Liaison.
We share the values: • improving the quality of life for beaches residents • safeguarding the environment for future generations • consulting with the community • supporting small business.
We are all on the same team.
Your Northern Beaches Independent Team are just a bunch of locals who live in and love the Northern Beaches and jumped through the hoops to get a box above the line for election day. It’s been great sharing resources and camaraderie during this campaign - but we are only answerable to YOU, not the Mayor, not the party heads in Canberra. Just YOU.
Vote 1 above the line YOUR NORTHERN BEACHES INDEPENDENT TEAM on Saturday and come visit for a chat, walk or coffee anytime. 🍊
Local government should be run by locals, in our opinion. We believe that excellent work has been done and we have a very strong team to guide the Northern Beaches towards an even better future.
Vote 1 Above The Line for Your Northern Beaches Independent Team.
Outlaws at the polling booth! How good is family support?!
Michael Regan Northern Beaches Mayor
This is my day job…. running a software company that now offers online tutoring.
Tonight we had our kick off meeting with >250 teachers who are joining the ClassCover team to deliver 32,000 hours of teaching to 530 severely disadvantaged children via our collaboration with The Smith Family. A pretty humbling moment being around these awesome educators and our equally capable team that have managed this massive scale up
I’ve said many times in the past couple of weeks that I feel that one of the better measures about whether or not to continue supporting the leadership of Michael Regan is to look around your local area and LGA and ask yourself, ‘is life better?’
We’ve been through a very tough time for many families and businesses and as a resident of the Northern Beaches, I personally don’t think we could’ve been better looked after. Services have continued improvements are ongoing support has been provided to many in need.
Don’t forget to vote either at pre-poll in the coming week or on Saturday 4th December.
Pre-poll venues open tomorrow. Get in early and forget about Election Day rush.
Things get real from tomorrow. Beat the crowds and casts a pre-poll vote.
Election Day getting closer!
I wouldn’t sign up for a 27k (thought it was 23) paddle to fundraise for a team unless it was to help people of the highest quality, a belief that locals should be on local council and that big parties don’t belong in local government.
The are humans of the highest order who just want to do their very best for our area. It’s a complete privilege to represent them.
As for the paddle. Thanks for joining me, for her endless support of me (❤️), for the board and and for keeping me in good enough nick to take this on.
Oahu - Molokai next!

Love the artwork as always.
I loved these art installations. They brought so much joy to the kids and are what I call low effort / high impact initiatives in our areas thanks to
As residents, when we look around our area and ask ourselves, have things gotten better or worse? What do you think? Are the footpaths wider, are the ocean pools clean, is there more infrastructure?
My answer is a resounding yes. I’ve now spoken to many NB residents who have recently moved from other LGAs and their sentiment is we don’t know how good we have it with our council. Responsiveness is good, consultation is good and action is good.
Let’s keep it going with
There needs to be some balance brought to some of the complete mistruths being asserted by some Northern Beaches Councillors. In this instance it’s regarding the bin replacement scheme that was voted for unanimously (which obv includes the councillor im referring to).
As an aside, it would be nice if the childish nicknames and un-evolved slogan style of scare tactic politics could be replaced with a grown up approach that respects the intelligence of the electorate.
One can only hope I guess.
For months, we would see , one of favourite cafes on the beaches, shuttered up as we drove past. I thought so many time if their lovely owners, Mel and Tony and if they were coping ok with the lockdown.
It was so good to see them again today with an optimistic outlook on the months and years to come.
If elected, I will do my best to help local business be more successful, more profitable and less stressful for the owners.
If you would like to learn more about some of my ideas for how we can do this, please be in touch.
6k hit out from Dee Why to South Curly.
Thanks The Tawny Frogmouth. The kids are super excited about their photo being in the mag ❤️
- some of our favourite people who whip up some of our favourite food…
Kids saw with a ute full of stock, they had a cuddle then started unloading XL tins of Jalapeño’s. Nachos for afternoon tea closely followed the unload.
I am super passionate about supporting our businesses and community orgs to thrive in this new post-corona landscape -
Back on the bike for a Friday ride with a great crew we’ve known a long while now. The variety of activities you can partake in to stay fit and healthy in these parts is world class (best?).

The childishness of this is staggering for an elected official. Can we organise for some grown ups to be our decision makers please?
Agree or disagree with fireworks / rates etc, please just be a little more sophisticated in your communication. It’s embarrassing to our LGA

Call us crazy but we’re getting a bit sad that homeschooling v2 is coming to an end.
They’ve been BIG days where often the questions are flying at us thick and fast. It’s been so nice though. Wouldn’t have had it any other way.
TIMECAPSULE THURSDAY 🕯
On the morning of the 21 November, 1944, a local student arrived at Narrabeen Public School to find the school had been deserted. News had broke that a plane had made an emergency landing on Narrabeen Beach.
Pilot Captain "Jimmy" Broadbent, of Point Piper, famous Australian airman who was piloting the mail plane with eight passengers onboard had to make a forced landing on Narrabeen Beach after one motor died and the other started failing….
If you’re keen to voice an opinion on the future of the Strand post trial or anything else that impacts Dee Why, please join in tomorrow night.
