The SCKC Adelaide Hills Quiz Night was a SUCCESS!
We had an awesome night at the St Barnabas Croydon last Friday raising money for our January camp.
We had over 140 amazing guests who helped us raise more than $6500 for the evening!! All funds raised will go towards delivering hope and a week of happy memories for kids for who have experienced trauma and neglect.
A massive thank you to St Barnabas Church for hosting us.
Thanks also to all the businesses and individuals who donated items and vouchers towards our Silent Auction.

SCKC Adelaide Hills has been blessed to have the support of Variety SA for several years. Our mission to deliver hope to the kids who need it most would not be possible without their generous support. After 7 years running here in Adelaide, we believe in our mission more than ever, that meaningful life change is possible for these children who have had such a difficult beginning to their lives. We are convinced that through genuine love and compassion, life change is possible, and we hope to continue on that mission on our 2024 camp.

We're so grateful to have the support of Variety SA! They fund a large part of our camp and are instrumental in giving these kids a week of happy memories. Thanks Variety SA πŸ’—

Late in 2020, Variety SA gave an incredibly generous donation to support SCKC Adelaide Hills.

Because of this, 31 of Adelaide's most at-risk children were able to come on a five day camp in the Adelaide Hills. They raced around on go-karts, tried their hand at archery, shot down the flying fox, applied exorbinant amounts of facepaint, and played a million different games without a care in the world.

Even more importantly, they created happy memories. They developed deep friendships with our amazing team of volunteers. They experienced what it feels like to be loved and cared for, and were given a hope for a brighter future.

Thank you to the team at Variety SA for making all this possible!

Southern Cross Kids' Camps Australia

Absolutely awesome work Corey!!!

Life for Corey Lees and his sister was not always filled with good memories. Growing up in a house with drug & alcohol abuse and domestic violence, meant that they had to grow up in foster care.

Corey attended his first SCKC camp at the age of 7, and now leads on SCKC camps. As Corey says in the video below, "every time I go back I feel like I am that 7 year old boy again, and those memories are like they just happened yesterday."

As many of you will know, Karyn Blacker has decided to step down from directing camp in 2021. She has done an amazing job of establishing Adelaide Hills SCKC. Her compassion and integrity are an inspiration to us all.

We’re very excited to announce there are two new directors stepping up for camp in 2021! Ada Walladge and Paddy Graham have both been involved in SCKC for several years, volunteering on both Adelaide Hills Camp and interstate Southern Cross Camps. They are both thrilled to step up into this position, and help provide vulnerable kids across SA with a week of happy memories.

A Week of Happy Memories! Some special memories from SCKC Adelaide Hills, 2020.
A very appreciative thank you to all those who so generously donated time, transport and finances, allowing us to cover our costs for our 2020 camp and continue this amazing work in the lives of Adelaide's very special children.

Heading into our 4th Adelaide Hills camp from the 5th-10th January, 2020! Some of our original campers are graduating this year and we need to entrust them into God's care and the seeds that have been planted during their time on camp. A friend once shared the analogy with me that if you change the course of a ship by 1 degree, it ends up at a totally different destination. Here at SCKC Adelaide Hills, we are attempting to be part of that 1 degree that changes the course of a child's life from one of abuse, neglect and defeat to one of victory, confidence and hope for the future. With only a week to go, your financial support is so very needed and greatly appreciated. Thank you for believing in what we do.

SCKC Adelaide Hills

Southern Cross Kids’ Camps is a charitable organisation that works with children who have experienced abuse, neglect, domestic violence and/or abandonment. Many of these children are in foster care or residential care.

The trauma that has shattered their world places them at an increased risk of negative outcomes later in life.

We aim to provide these kids with a week of joy and happy memories, while simultaneously building confidence, a sense of worth, and hope for the future.

Our specially designed program enables these children to break generational cycles of abuse and neglect by empowering them to make good choices in life.
