This month we challenged designers Lucy Croft and Kelly Wilson Moore to each create a mandala using the same yarn for issue 152. Lucy’s s vibrant floral motif (photographed) features petal-like shapes at its centre which are worked in three-treble clusters while Kelly took an altogether different approach to the brief. This is definitely the most fun days of the year for us crochet lovers! The granny square is the perfect, bite-sized way to showcase crocheter creativity and skill. Working within the parameters (and perimeters) of a square can really push makers and designers to, well, think outside the box. As a result, our social feeds are overrun with bright, beautiful, creative squares, and we just can't get enough!

We will try to keep popping your gorgeous squares into our stories today, so others can enjoy your makes as much as we do. Feel free to tag us or dm us with your pics and we will do our best to keep up with sharing them! (If we miss yours, please don't be hurt, "we" are one volunteer 😝). Keep 'em comin'!
