We think the WA Government's $20k "Building Bonus" grant is an even better step in the right direction for the industry. The WA grant will be available to both owner-occupiers AND investors. (But if it happens to be your first home, there's also the $10k First Home Owners Grant, which still exists separately and takes the total up to $55k plus there would be stamp duty savings as well !) Apply for a new home construction grant | Western Australian Government Building Bonus Package grants are available for people who enter into a contract to build a new home on vacant land or purchase a new home being constructed under a single-tier strata plan.

Good news for the entire building industry with the latest stimulus package announced by the Federal Government. “HomeBuilder” grants will offer $25k towards building a new home or doing major renovations. There are of course terms and conditions and it applies to contracts signed before Dec 31, which is aimed at helping avoid a situation where grants get absorbed by longer-term increases in building costs. The scheme will help support about 1 million workers including builders, bricklayers, plumbers, electricians and other trades.
