Can you spot the twin 16 day embryos in this video ??? It is very important to scan mares 14-16 days post ovulation so we are able to check for twins ! Twins unfortunately don’t carry well in horses so we have to crush one under ultrasound guidance. We were able to do this successfully in this mare & still have one healthy pregnancy remaining 🙌

A paralysis tick spotted and removed from a mini pony today, have seen minis be taken down by only 2 of these little buggers so make sure to use prevention & check them regularly ! Keeping them away from scrubby areas will help a lot 🙏

Another AI mare from this season pregnant, but this time with twins ! They are sitting right next to each other in this video. Unfortunately horses don’t cope too well with twins, it often ends in complications for the mare & often the foals don’t survive. This is one big reason we always scan them around 14-18 days after ovulation. In this case Nikita reduced one of the twins manually with the ultrasound probe technique. We will rescan this mare at 42 days to confirm everything is looking good, congratulations to these guys & fingers crossed for a healthy 2023 foal 🙌
