LOUD fence Inc.
LOUD fence Inc stands alongside survivors of child s*xual assault & their loved ones.
The original LOUD FENCE is the front fence of the former "St Alipius Boys' School" site, in Victoria Street, Ballarat. From May 21st 2015 the local community were invited to tie LOUD (bright, coloured) ribbons on to the fence as a show of support for the victims and survivors of child abuse suffered there and at other locations. Tying ribbons let survivors and victims know that we BELIEVE them, we

Yesterday ribbons were tied at the former Queen St PS in Ballarat East. This event was organised by our wonderful Helen for John, who had reached out to us. John was emotional and so grateful to have been acknowledged, heard and supported.
Organisations and people who still donβt understand the power of the ribbons, need to attend one of these events and witness the emotion first hand. Every ribbon has a voice - just listen!

The world would be a happier, more peaceful place if we all tried to understand instead of judging, paused before reacting, and gave each other the benefit of the doubt instead of assuming the worst.

At over 15,000 supporters our petition is one of the top most supported petitions on change.org! Thank you all our 15,456 supporters, the178 supporters who have contributed a total of $16,214.33 to promote our petition, and everyone who contributed to1,920 shares of our petition! This helps our campaign for the Victorian government to pilot frameworks of accessible and integrated service systems that are already working well elsewhere in Australia, and in the world, in a couple of Victorian communities devastated by historic, systemic institutional child s*xual abuse. The Ballarat community, and the Bayside communities of Melbourne.
We are also asking The Hon. Mary-Anne Thomas to work with the relevant decision makers within Victorian State and Federal Government, to ask that they collectively fund a person-centred approach to survivors, their families and communities, that requires knocking on just one door. Designed around the holistic needs of individuals and families, that provides victims and survivors of institutional child s*xual abuse with "no wrong door."
The urgent action our petition seeks, is well known to the Victorian State and Federal Governments, through numerous recommendations from various commissions and reports.
Thank you everyone! We are stronger together.

The Beaumaris Inquiry needs to be expanded to recognise all Survivors of abuse for which the Victorian Department of Education is ultimately responsible. Justice and recognition should not merely be determined by a Survivorβs postcode and narrowing the scope of to only a select number of schools and offenders, we feel there is a disservice being done to the broader Survivor community who also suffered abuse within the Victorian State School system.

Now showing in Art Space Ballarat.
'inVISIBLE: We were here. We are here.' 25 Nov - 10 Dec.
Open Thu - Mon, 11am to 4pm at 14 Lydiard St N, Ballarat.
It is forty years since the Ballarat Childrenβs Home on Victoria Street closed its doors in 1983. More than 4,500 children once lived there β in its various names, Orphan Asylum or Orphanage or Childrenβs Home. Their lives are forever part of this cityβs story. Lives controlled by adults with low expectations and too easy to cast judgment. Yet here they are.
This multimedia exhibition brings together artists who spent childhoods in confinement in Ballarat, separated from their families and communities. It is a powerful statement of resistance, persistence, and presence, exploring themes of freedom found through escape, survival in the face of shattered childhoods, and the liberating experience of speaking back to the unreliable records of institutional childhoods.
A collaborative exhibition by Deb Gardiner, Deb Findlay, Frank Golding, Kerri Wilson McConchie and Rebecca Russell with Ember Parkin and David McGinniss.

βPublic hearings are an important part of the Inquiryβs process and will occur in phases throughout the duration of the Inquiryβs work.
They will provide an opportunity to hear experiences from victim-survivors of historical child s*xual abuse in Beaumaris Primary School and certain other government schools and from their families, friends, loved ones and supporters. Victim-survivorsβ evidence will be heard directly, and through narratives read by Counsel Assisting.
Public hearings will also involve a range of witnesses for the purpose of examining the response of the Department of Education at the time, appropriate ways to support healing, and how to deliver effective support services to victim-survivors.β
I was very grateful to have been given the opportunity to speak at the Board of Inquiry today. LOUD fence Inc supports victim-survivors in their endeavour for justice and healing. We will continue to fight for changes in the culture of institutions and organisations that remain silent. Our aim is to keep children safe from s*xual assault. ποΈποΈποΈβπΌ In Good Faith Foundation The Survivor Hub Beaumaris And Surrounding Communities - CSA Survivors And Families
