A little known fact about our Boss man Craig Power, is that he has his own story with Westpac Rescue Helicopter, having been lifted out of the bush after a serious motorcycle accident in 2021. Luckily he walked (limped) out of intensive care a week after being airlifted.
There's these stories and more that make this fundraiser close to heart. It's going to be a fun night with auctions including Luke Combs tickets! Live music with Charlie Fittler, plus raffles and more!

𝗧𝗢𝗗𝗗 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗝𝗢𝗦𝗘 𝗦𝗜𝗚𝗔𝗟𝗔 𝗪𝗜𝗡 𝗚𝗘𝗟𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗜𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗜𝗩𝗘!
The nine-horse final of the Longyard Hotel Open Futurity Gelding Incentive was the second final of this years NCHA 4CYTE Futurity and it was a fabulous field of nominations that crossed the Ariat Australia timeline in search of the title that has only been contested eleven times before and in the field, only one past winner, Heath Sinclair who won in on board ‘Winderdeen Happy Hour’ in 2011.

Tyler Hodgman was third out on board 'The Black Duck’ (Stevie Rey Von X Cee Sophie Dance’) and set the remaining combinations a mark of 219pts to chase. Todd Graham, showing Peter Shumack’s ‘Jose Sigala’ (Sigala Rey X Fair Lady Flash) took the number on, cutting and working three cows in the middle of the pen with a ton of eye appeal for our judges. And they liked what they saw awarding this pair 225pts, a number that would not be hunted down.

For Todd, it’s his first Gelding Incentive to add to his extensive resume and for Shuey it’s alo his first to go with his Non-Pro Open Classic Challenge on his mare ‘Fair Lady Flash’ and his 2003 Non-Pro Derby win on ‘LilBadger Oak’ on whom he won the Non-Pro Futurity the year before.

The name of Shuey’s young gelding may well be recognised by many in the cutting world. Mr Jose Sigala (resides in Venezuela) is the owner of the stallion ‘Sigala Rey’ the sire of Shuey’s gelding and he is also the breeder of Holly Clayden’s ‘Araguaney’ (Sigala Rey X This Cat Turns Trix).

Join our Crew!

Well established regional hotel group is seeking highly motivated and experienced head chefs for 2 of our venues.

Reporting to the Group Executive Chef, you will be responsible both for managing the operation of the kitchen, with accountability for the achievement of the kitchen’s success and maximising growth and sustainability opportunities by both fulfilling and building upon customer’s food service needs.

Head Chef duties and responsibilities:
• Ensuring that kitchen staff adhere to quality, hygiene and cleanliness standards
• Staying up-to-date with culinary trends and kitchen processes
• Dealing with suppliers and ensuring that they supply quality goods at affordable prices
• Oversee the maintenance of kitchen equipment and organising repairs when needed
• Handling staff issues such as sick leave and attendance, and taking disciplinary action when necessary
• Developing new dishes and overhauling menus to attract more clientele
• Ensure that guests receive excellent service and enjoy their dining experience
• Will be working with a large experienced team that includes group executive chef, experienced sous chef, multiple area chefs, apprentice chefs and kitchen hands
• Luxury of having a full maintenance team to assist with immediate fix or replacement needs
The successful candidate will have:
• Minimum certificate 3 in commercial cookery
• Current food safety certificate
• Experience as a Head Chef or similar role
• Passionate about food and the ever-changing food trends
• Stock control, rostering and ordering experience
• Strong attention to detail
• The ability to work closely with the group executive chef and venue manager

Positions are located in the large regional city of Tamworth which offers excellent educational, sporting and medical facilities with easy access to Newcastle, Sydney and Brisbane.
