Brett Peart - Baritone
Australian Baritone - West Australian Opera Wesfarmers Arts Young Artist 2024
Had a wonderful time rehearsing for Semele this afternoon, surrounded by Moira de la Hunty's beautiful art at STALA Contemporary Art. It's a pleasure to work with HIP Company and the fantastic cast they have put together for this (surprisingly) rarely-heard piece of English baroque opera.
I'm very excited to be performing the role of Cadmus, the King of Thebes in John Eccles 'Semele' presented by HIP Company this April.
With such a stellar cast working alongside HIP Company, I have no doubt that this performance will certainly be one you don't want to miss!

Come along to the quarry this weekend for our show full of festive fun (and great singing)!
Very much looking forward to this wonderful concert on the 10th of December. I'll be the baritone soloist for Ralph Vaughan Williams' Fantasia on Christmas Carols. Vaughan Williams is one of my favourite composers and it won't be hard to see why when you hear this beautiful piece gorgeously performed by the fantastic UWACS choir under the baton of Kris Bowtell and played wonderfully by organist Alessandro Pittorino alongside brass and woodwind. The concert will also feature Bruckner's Mass in e minor as well as a selection of carols.
đś Unveiling our talent â Part Two! đś đ Meet the magnificent Brett Peart - Baritoneđ
On Sunday December 10, Christmas with UWACS will feature the captivating voice of a Christmas angel - the emerging Western Australian opera singer Brett Peart. Brettâs deep, rich tones will accompany 100 voices from the UWACS choir, along with organist Alessandro Pittorino, brass and woodwind.
Brettâs ability to hit the low notes with soul-stirring power, and control and vocal range are perfect for the arrangements, harmonies, and instrumentation of Kris Bowtellâs program. Enjoy Anton Bruckner's Mass No. 2 in E minor, Ralph Vaughan Williams' Fantasia on Christmas Carols, and a selection of traditional and beloved popular carols where the audience can join in!
Brett Peart is a graduate of Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) who Seesaw Magazine describes as being âespecially successful in getting into his vocal strideâ and having a âstentorian baritone voiceâ. This year Brett performed the role of Montano in West Australian Operaâs Otello, the role of The Prince in Freeze Frame Operaâs Adriana Lecouvrer, and Benoit in WAOâs La Boheme â not forgetting his Carmina Burana performance with UWACS in August.
The concert begins at 4:00 pm at Winthrop Hall - UWA, followed by the traditional family picnic on the lawns. The annual Christmas concert is a special and unforgettable experience that celebrates the beauty, warmth and joy of the holiday season through music, community, and shared memories.
