Welcome to Rosy’s Bagels! The finest artisanal sourdough bagels.
Our bagels are handcrafted with love, care and the finest ingredients We follow the traditional process of first boiling the bagels and then baking them. But first we give our bagels time, lots of time over two days to prove and develop that unique sourdough flavour that distinguishes our bagels from all others. The end result is an immensely satisfying bagel that is crisp on the outside with a well aerated, springy and chewy crumb on the inside. Substantial but easy to digest.
Rosy’s Bagels are flavourful and good to eat on their own or try them with your favourite toppings or fillings.
HOW ROSY'S BAGELS STARTED
I started making bagels after many years of baking both yeast-based and sourdough breads for the family. Being in lockdown during Covid19 left me with time to remember how I used to love buying bagels at my local bagel shop in Brooklyn, when I lived in New York. I could still remember that wonderful experience of biting into a fresh crusty and chewy bagel.
So I was struck with the idea of recreating my bagel experience here in Australia. With one important difference - the addition of the incomparable flavour and texture of sourdough. The distinct flavour of genuine sourdough bread - that most ancient of leavened breads - is by far the favourite in our household and probably in many others.
I have my own sourdough starter that I have been nurturing for years. So I turned to my trusty sourdough starter and started creating bagels. Rosy’s Bagels was born.
