It's the Flower Moon tonight ...
A great night to play with all my pretty rocks...and charge some full moon water for my paintings...
Curiosity? What did I see this morning? A stream of lights travelling quite slowly across the sky at approx 515am
I so wanted to experience the wonder many many humans got to witness in the last few days..Aurora Australis ... early morning hopeful alarms set but alas...cloud cover hugged the sky. Interesting 3am shots from my backyard though
After the rain...
The best part of me..my two incredibly amazing humans I get to call my sons
The stage is set.. The space is ready now for some new works inspired by sunlight and shadows, rivers and rocks, crystal waters and textured trunks..
One of my favourite poems by sets the tone of this new body of work.
Dream River ..
Carved watercolour on cotton rag paper 30cm dia.
The process of carving back through paint, capturing the energy and magic of place ..the rhythm of nature..the texture of tallowwood and.complexities of tree communities .the simplicity of nature
This little wonder was born by the dreamiest River that keeps calling me back time and again.. and is inspiring a little body of works to capture the enchanting blue waters and light dappled trees of the Never Never.
Before the carve... enjoying the build up of colour in amongst the indigo lines ..
Early morning creative pockets of time are the best..now can't wait till this afternoon to carve this little dream by the river..
To run your hands over smooth leaves , furry rocks..the texture of the forest beckons.. a sensory experience...Weaving, thread on paper, fibre and paper and found /foraged materials are my favourite
Early morning creative time before getting ready for work.. the last of my little explorations .little waterfalls from my dreams set in starry indigo skies
White pastel pencil, white posca pen and white acrylic on indigo watercolour
I envision powerful water sheets pouring from nightskies ..
The moon had to make an appearance in these today
Slow afternoons .. and laying out colour ideas for painting
This place ... you can feel the magic in the air
A spectacular morning ..
Afternoon scribbles and spectacular sunset ...
Carving nightfall ...
..seems illuminated with light behind ..
Nightfall .. Night Falls ...
An idea is emerging and look forward to seeing how this evolved.. working small for now..pen and ink
Some interesting results from local foraged grasses and leaves... these may be beautiful grounds for some works in future or in the pile of the 'unknown' .the process was the magic part, and to be explored further
A beautiful afternoon for a bush walk in our land of freedom .. ecoprinting on paper ..bubbling on stove top
the colour of intuition, creativity and clarity ... mixed with collected recently. .My sister gave me a tip to get back into practice..a little rule.. 30 mins a day of creativity..I had opted to not paint of late due to lack of time..30 minutes is achievable and I'm happy with that!
Flicking through sketchbooks from years ago brings such a smile to my face..ideas that never went further than these pages waiting to be brought to life in new ways..others that led to new explorations ..

This little fall on the side track of Piles Creek Loop is such a stunning Lil fall and one of my favourites
Today was better than I imagined..
It was a day with .stephenson inhaling fresh air absorbing good energy and filtered sunlight with a sprinkle of magic mist ( waterfall spray). Collected some waterfall goodness for later...and a rock or two which promised great pigment.
