I’ve been getting creative during the week and thought I’d share some of the different coiled basket ideas I’m using. Still have a few places for workshop on the 5th July ‘24. DM if you’d like details 😄

Coiled Basket Weaving Workshop
Friday 5th July 2024 9.30am - 12.30pm
$105 per person

Learn the art of basket weaving and join me for a restorative few hours dedicated to creativity. In this class we will be using the fibre raffia to explore the hidden core coiling technique.

Whether you’re keen to delve deeper in the realm of basketry or simply seeking to nurture your creative spirit through this calming practice, this workshop is tailored for you. During the class you will learn how to start, shape and finish a woven vessel with palm raffia.

We will discuss how this weaving technique can be used with various materials, including paper twine, twine or fabric and also how you can add extra elements to decorate your basket such as fringing, flowers, wooden decorations or feathers - actually anything you like.

This workshop is suitable for beginner weavers. This is an adult open age class but is suitable for ages 12 and over. No previous experience is necessary however children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a participating adult.

All materials and light refreshments will be provided. GF option is available, if required.
