Jake and Nico truly are living proof that while Covid has robbed the world of so much, it wasn’t going to rob them of their dream wedding. Before the ceremony even started, loved ones from Nico’s beloved Chile tuned in with delight to wish him well and send their love. The whole thing was just so damn emotional and happy, and joyful and all the good feels. is a legend, he was the perfect choice of photographer for J & N and I highly recommend you reach out to him if you’re planning your wedding, he’s just a doll, a talented one at that.

I've had so many of my couples reach out to me over the past few days as things appear to escalate, and so I wanted to share my thoughts.
Your wedding day is more than just one day. You are meant to enjoy (Mostly) the lead up, the build up, the anticipation and the excitement that comes with planning a wedding....not simply enjoy the ONE DAY that is your wedding day.

I have two types of brides; the first is the 'Oh my god Kristie, do you think we'll have to postpone? Do you think it'll get worse? Do you think our guest numbers will be cut down further? All I'm doing is watching the news!'

and the second type of bride who's mantra is 'Whatever happens, happens'. (For what it's worth, I'm Type-A, OCD and would likely be the first bride).

There is no right or wrong way to react. We are all different and we have different responses and different feelings, fears, thoughts and expectations.

My fear is that if you're spending the months and weeks leading up to your big day watching the news and scrolling the government websites for updates, then you're doing yourself a disservice. You're missing the good stuff and if you're anxious every single day about what to do, if you're worried and teary and on the edge of your seat at every announcement Gladys or Sco Mo makes...... then if you can, just postpone until next year.
It's ok, we'll make it work, AND you won't have a stomach ulcer. Yay!

IF YOU CAN, consider postponing to a time when you'll be scrolling pinterest instead of news. com. When you'll be able to share photos from your epic hens weekend, instead of photos of you crying, b***s deep into a bottle of champagne (Not good for stomach ulcers btw)

If you aren't fussed and are going ahead regardless of restrictions, then sweet! Move ahead.

But please, beautiful brides, look after your mental health and really reassess what is important to you x

I’m starting to get itchy feet! It’s only taken me 3 months, and there was a time there where I was starting to look awfully comfortable in my early retirement (copping a fair bit of side eye from my husband every time he came home from work to find me perched on the lounge with my tea and biscuits, still in my pyjamas), but I’m ready. I’m genuinely excited to do away with elastic waisted pants and get back to doing what I love 💓

Like many of my industry friends, I've been keeping a watchful eye on the many beautiful wedding venues we're lucky to have here on the south coast.
I am so saddened to read this news today from he beautiful Kangaroo Valley Bush Retreat, and hope that the healing, recovery and rejuvenation is swift.

It is our great sadness to inform you that the Kangaroo Valley Bush Retreat has been severely damaged in the bush fire disaster which passed through Kangaroo Valley over the weekend. We ended 2019 on such a high, winning the Australian Bridal Industry Academy’s award for ‘Best Wedding Ceremony Venue' in NSW and only weeks later are faced with this devastating event. All of our staff, guests and suppliers are safe and we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all the Fire & Rescue, NSW Rural Fire Service and Emergency Services who worked with us to evacuate and tried so hard to protect our beautiful retreat.

We will be in touch personally with all of our booked clients today.

We would like to thank everyone who has sent us messages of concern and we really appreciate your ongoing support.

There will unfortunately be no weddings hosted here for the moment and we will make further announcements as soon as we are in a position to do so.

Kangaroo Valley Bush Retreat is a unique and special place treasured by many and it’s definitely our intention to have our wedding venue returned back to its place of natural beauty.
