It's a Wrap

Purses are the gift of choice this week. The small one $15 (dog fabric), and a medium one $20(mouth fabric). Sizes are xs,s,m,l and xl. All things I make are one- or two-off. This way no one has what you have!

Where have I been, I hear you ask. Well, life is busy and I haven't had much time to myself. But I'm back and am finishing off some gifts before I start taking orders again. Recycled sari silk would have to be one of my absolute favourites. The colours are eye-poppingly rich! Here's 3 bowls in sari silk that I've made as a gift. 2 small $15 ea and 1 medium $18. If you want one send me a message with colour preferences and I'll do my best to make something gorgeous for you!

Masks and more masks! If you want one please get in touch. My masks are 3 layers of 100% cotton. There is an opening to add a filter, a solid nose wire and adjustable ear loops. The price for these is $15 for sizes 13cm and up. Kids sizes are 12cm and less and are$12.

I've researched fabrics and have found that a layer of chiffon works very well at trapping the virus as it is negatively charged so I will add a layer of chiffon if you request it. The chiffon layer will add $2 to the price. I will include the links to websites soon so you can check for yourself.

I also now request face measurements so they fit better, even if you think you're a 'medium' you probably aren't! See the attached pic for simple instructions.

I'm also offering 3 layers without the pocket - 2 cotton layers and one chiffon layer. Cost will be $15.

I just assume that women's faces are the same size as mine - medium, average! And yet today I took orders from sisters who look like they have average sized faces and yet they were tiny!! So, if you would like me to make your masks so they fit you as properly as possible, would you please take the time to measure your face size so I can make the right size mask. Take a look at this photo and measure where the red and purple lines are.

Red: From the top of your nose between your eyes to that little soft spot just under your chin.

Purple: From the tip of your nose across your cheek to just in front of your ear.

Measurements don't have to be spot-on accurate to the millimetre, but close enough please! Let me know these measurements when you order.

In the next few days I will be posting more face masks. I have made a few and will be taking orders. Fabrics are limited and will only be what I have on hand at the moment. I have perfected my design! New nose wires and adjustable elastics. 4 adult sizes XL L M and S 3 layer $15 and 2 layer $12. 5 children's sizes all $12. Postage is a bit cheaper if you don't want tracking.

So what do you do when you're sad? My therapy is to sew, and so I sew. Whipped this little cutie up last night, made me smile after such a crappy day.

See, I've had a busy day!! This is what happens when you don't sleep. I got up this morning at 4am and got busy. It's now 3pm and I'm still in here, still in my jammies, many cups of tea later, filling orders. I'm lucky that I'm working with pretty stuff, it makes it so much more rewarding. Special order for my mum who is an avid knitter. She has a knitting bag with lots of loose knitting paraphernalia in the bottom. So I made her 2 WIP bags for all her bits and pieces. The large one for her needles and the smaller one for all the nicnacs. If you want a big one 30x15cm is $30, the small one 15x15cm is $20 with $9.20 trackable postage.

And lastly, I've made a few WIP bags (work in progress). These are great if you do craft away from home. I use mine constantly. Of course you don't have to be a crafty traveler to need one of these handy bags. They have a clear vinyl front and a zip so you can see what's in it and it's all secure. I have 3 sizes 16x16 $20, 22x22cm $25 And 30x30cm $30 although can custom- make. And I have lots of fabric. Postage is $9.20 Australia wide, tracked.

Next is face masks. These things are going to be with us for a long time. Do you have one? I have just added an XL size and I'll post an instruction on how to measure your face so you get a good fit. Masks are 100% cotton with 3 layers and a pocket for another layer. If you'd like to purchase a mask spacer I will add a button to secure the spacer in your mask. The spacer stops you sucking the mask close to your nose and mouth. Adult masks (M, L & XL) are $15, kids $10. Adult spacers are $5 (no kid sizes). Picture with the spacer is of my mask.

I've not been sewing for a bit. The donut events picked up there for a few weeks so I had to work weekends. Donuts are hard work, not only taking up my weekends but a good chunk of the weekdays as well. But, I've just spent a day in my happy place and made up a few orders.

So firstly is the doggy pooh bag holders, come with or without a roll of bags. $10 with bags, $8 without. If you want a carabina clip that's another $2. I've got heaps of doggy fabrics if you want one. Can also make a matching bandana if your pooch likes fashion!

I just rediscovered the joy of sharp scizzors!! I have 5 pairs of scizzors, all were blunt. I just happened to stumble across a local bloke who comes to you and sharpens just about anything, Cutting Egde Precision Sharpening.He performed miracles on my scizzors and to test them out I just cut out 10 face masks for an order without swearing once!! It's going to be a great day 🙃✂️✂️✂️

I've just discovered a bloke who makes mask spacers. It's a little plastic gadget that fits inside your face mask and holds the fabric away from your nose and mouth hence making it easier to breathe. If you order one of my masks make sure to tell me if you want a spacer and I will sew a little button into the mask for you to attach it. This makes the mask easier to put on and take off and keeps the spacer in place. Kev Rox will make them for you for $5 each. Order direct from Kev (He's on FB and on the Gallway Green page) and collect from Kev in Galway Green. My masks are triple layer with a pocket to add an extra layer or filter if required $15 adults and $10 kids.

Ta daaaa!!! What is it? I hear you ask. This, my friends, is a WIP bag (work in progress). How many times have you needed a little bag to put an unfinished project in to take somewhere or to store for another day? I know I've carried work in progress around in paper bags, plastic bags, loose in my handbag, wrapped up in itself, because I was in a hurry and didn't have time to look for something to carry it in. As a consequence I've lost important parts of my projects because I didn't carry it safely enough. Well, not any more!! I've made the perfect WIP bag, zipped at the top and clear vinyl at the front so you can see what's in it and keep it all together in one place!!! I'm so rapt with this project that I'm going to making them in 3 sizes. More details soon (doin' a happy dance!!)
