Mornings with really are a blessing. Actually almost any time spent with her is. She brings joy and light to my sometimes dark days. She’s had a tough couple of years at school and has struggled to make friends. Kids her age just don’t get her. Its not that they don’t like her, its just that she gets bored of them easily and wants them to do what she wants, without compromise I guess. Kids are ruthless and just don’t have time for things like that. I can see why she struggles, but its a quality in her I don’t want to squash, as I think it will serve her well as she gets older. I’m just trying to make her learn the art of finding the middle ground with people. Shes sassy and bossy and opinionated, but its all a big noisy show. Underneath it all she struggles with her self esteem, second guesses her every move, is sometimes a little anxious and I guess its her way of coping. She’s not interested playing unicorns and dolls. She wants to write scripts and songs and stories and draw all the wonderful things in her head. But it was heartbreaking cuddling her to sleep so many nights while she cried. Cue term 3 this year, and along came a new girl in her class who just happens to be the other piece of her puzzle. A kid who LOVES to read and make up stories and draw. They spend their days just the 2 of them and Image couldn’t be happier. What a huge difference a friend makes. One who truly gets you. We should all be so lucky

We have 3 cats. Two amazing ones, Bonnie and Clyde (this is Bonnie,) who are gentle and affectionate and human like. The 3rd is an as***le who actually doesnt really give 2 sh*ts about us but we love her anyway. She, for obvious reasons, is not pictured.

🤫 Look, I did actually want to ramble about him, and tell you all to marvel at how much hes grown, but I have to ask his permission these days to be on social media, which I totally respect and get, and it was a No from Harry. Just believe me. He's growing.

She loves animals this one, and spends her screen time watching police dog videos and animal training techniques on the computer (she wants to join the police force as a dog handler). Luckily for her we just happen to know the universes best animal trainer so many of her days are spent at her animal heaven learning and watching her work ☺️
Ps: I forgot about day 4 🙄. Now they’ll be out of order which is horrifying

Phones. Argh. I hate that he has one, but with all the changes in the last 12 months, he needed one for him and his sisters, and it makes me feel better to be able to contact them when I’m not with them (and vice versa) so it is what it is. We have strict rules and he sticks to them so far. Better to teach them to use it for good not evil I guess, while I still have a little control over his decisions? It’s a tough one. What ages did your kids get phones? What are some of your rules?

So. I’ve been inspired to attempt my January Photo a Day Project again this year, thanks to my dear friend Katie (). I haven’t really made time for it the last couple of years, not because I don’t love it, but because becoming a single parent means that some of January my kids are with their dad, and I just couldn’t bring myself to do it without them. But I think this year I will. And on the couple of days they’re not with me, I might do a thing like a personal project I did a few years ago when they were little 🤷🏻‍♀️😊. I don’t think I’ll ramble with stories like I used to, but who knows? I do like to ramble occasionally. .

Oh Fat Max. You are so loved. By this one especially. She’s your favourite human, your pick out of the 3. The one who’s bed you jump onto when you think I can’t hear you sneak in at night (although you’ve been forced to sleep on the floor next to her lately, being far too old and of significant weight to get onto the actual bed, no matter how much you grunt). You love it when she reads you stories. It’s her swag you sleep in when we go camping. It’s her you follow around the yard while she plays. And even though you walk all three of them to the school bus every morning, and every arvo like clockwork, you know exactly when it’s time to wander down to meet them as they get off it, I’m sure it’s really just because of her. I’m so glad we could give you a life of so much love, and that you have a forever best friend in your sweet, gentle Bear.

Do you know I shoot weddings?! I took a little break from them for a while, but I miss them, and I'd love to shoot more this year!
