Our society has a misconception that intimacy is mainly related to sexuality. As a result we are missing a key opportunity to experience deep connection & joy in our day to day lives.
The etymology of the word ‘intimacy’ comes from the Latin word ‘intimus’ - meaning, inmost.
Humans are wired to experience a deep ‘inmost’ connection with the natural world, themselves, and each other. For most of our human evolution, we have shared direct, daily, embodied contact with nature/self/other, in a symbiotic exchange of witnessing and receiving energies.
This embodied intimate relationship with self and the outside world has helped us grow to where we are as a species, therefore it is fundamental to our capacity to shine, thrive and evolve.
The release of serotonin, oxytocin and dopamine (and a heap of other neurotransmitters) that result from deep union, tells us that we are primed and wired for intimacy, and that without it - we miss the full spectrum of the rich and remarkable human experience that is available to us; we miss our own radiance; and we miss embodying our souls yearning for the inmost sense of oneness, that intimacy creates.
One thing I value about facilitating The Intimacy & Attraction WS is that it practices & cultivates this deep, embodied, felt union with ones-self, and other, through the heart, and the body. And eventually also through our sensual-sexual expression, a natural and fundamental aspect of our core self. The healing, growth and embodied radiance this body of work creates is sublime.

WOW. At Machu Picchu we had just arrived to the Inca Bridge, a secret entrance to MP - a portal not many people go to. And they totally miss out - this place is a powerful initiation gateway for Greatness. The 20 foot gap in the cliff wall (down there on the left) was to test the courage & commitment of the brave, made for only the energetic giants that were brave enough to face their limitations & their death - & surpass them. The test was to jump across the 20 foot gap & survive. It was more than just a physical challenge of course. This was a test of spiritual endurance & greatness, of overcoming fears & limitations of the mind, of psychological robustness. The ancient ones first prepared in Ceremony for the initiation; then they stood at the edge of the gap, connected in with their full power - mental, psychological, spiritual, physical - and jumped. To fail meant to fall 1,900 feet. Here our Paqo, shaman of the Andes Edgar, is playing flute as our group spent time by the entrance of the Initiation Gap. The lilting tunes of the flute and the power of the place filled every single cell, connecting us to our courage & commitment to transform whatever is holding us back from shining in our lives. This portal is a reminder to embrace our limitations & fears, to find out what’s REALLY going on in the shadows of our heart that stop us from: - Being seen - Taking a leap of faith - Committing to the dreams of our heart - From knowing ourselves as the powerful Creator we are Etc And then - to do something about transmuting these limitations.
