Whilst the normal people sleep, we get to see some amazing sunrises this time of year @ trackwork.
π Unconquered Sun aka Lucky, had a fabulous win today in the 6th at Mornington under the guidance of jockey Michael Poy! π
Itβs been a while since his 9 length win on a heavy track at Colac, but Lucky proved he can run in firm conditions too.
Many thanks to our trackrider Loretta Barone for the wonderful job she has done with Lucky and also to our team of riders who are there for us every morning doing the hard yards. ππΌ
Not a bad life for a retired racehorse here.
Photos of our lovely Inference filly, working well for Daryl Horner who broke her in for us recently. This girl was a recent addition to our stable along with an Astern c**t who we picked up at the Adelaide Easter Yearling sale. Daryl has been really impressed with this girlβs easygoing nature and she has come back home a calm and happy girl, ready to go on with her next phase in life after sheβs had some time to spell and mature.
Meanwhile, our handsome Astern c**t will be heading to Daryl next.
Expressions of interest in either of these youngsters are most welcome.
ππ π€© How fantastic do these race day bag and colours bags look?! π€© ππ
Beautifully made by Christine at Equi Stitch in QLD, Purcell Racing couldnβt be happier with their new kit!
Happy Pirate, the stableβs most recent winner, approves too! π π π
Our broodmares, Dish and Lemon Crush enjoying the last of the Autumn sunshine.
Our stable favourite Happy Pirate finally showed us what heβs truly capable of with a fantastic win in the first at Cranbourne on Friday night. Guided perfectly by Lewis German, he galloped past the post with plenty more in the tank; hopefully a promising sign of things to come?...... π π π
**UNCONQUERED SUN**

On Sunday morning we took two of the boys to the beach to change up their training routine a bit. Lewis and Hannah kindly gave up their morning and met us to take Lucky and Sunny for a dip, joining quite a few other horses that were there. For first time visitors to the beach, our boys quickly relaxed in the water and new surrounds. Lovely to see our horses and riders enjoying the workout!
The relaxing of the Covid lockdown meant that we were finally able to go and meet our gorgeous Inference c**t who was born at Miranda Park on Father's Day. This was the first time we could make the trip out of our lockdown zone to meet the boy and it was wonderful to see him in the flesh after 2 months of photo and video updates only. Both he and his mother Dish, are doing really well and loving paddock life with their mates. We are looking forward to being able to bring them and our other mare Nellie (Lemon Crush) who has also been at Miranda Park, home sometime soon.
We really can't thank Gary and Helen O'Meara at Miranda Park enough for the amazing care they have given our mares and new foal. They have also done a wonderful job keeping us up to date with regular emails, messages and photos.
Old stalwart Bart spends most of his time in the paddock with the 'geriatrics' but is always ready to accompany a nervous lone traveller to a race. Payment is required; an ice-cream is the usual fee! ππ¦π₯°

Purcell Racing would like to announce the official resumption of the training partnership of Bruce and Jean Purcell.
After a 4 year hiatus from training due to some of life's tough challenges, Jean has reacquired her training licence and rejoined forces with Bruce. With a small, exciting team in their stable, the Purcell Racing training partnership is looking forward to seeing what the future brings.
Some pics of the team enjoying the sunny conditions today. βοΈ
We used our brand new, amazing quality, personalised saddle blankets made by Sophie Clark Saddlery this morning for the first time.
Donβt think they will stay that shining and clean forever, but thatβs horses!
Thanks Andrew Vos for sharing this winning photo, 28 years ago!!!
Time sure does fly when your having fun!!
Extending (aka Rossco) ran super yesterday @ the MRC meeting held at Mornington, and just got beaten by a better horse on the day. Couldnβt of asked for a better ride from Lewis German.
**FLASHBACK**
