Sojo Creative
Social media support services for small to medium businesses so you can focus on other awesome things!
Look what I did here... a slight tweak to my business name! Here are the reasons why...
1. I've worked out that Pinterest has become what I now enjoy most from the services I offer, and the one I feel I can offer small businesses the most value. There are not that many true Pinterst specialists in Australia and I want to be one of them.
2. Anyone who has heard me speak about Pinterest knows this: Pinterest is NOT a social media platform. It's a super powerful search platform. Therefore, having the word "social" in my business name just didn't sit right with me.
SO... that leaves us with this question: How can we work together?
1. Pinterest start up or optimisation services: Get you started on the platform in the RIGHT way, or audit and optimise your existing presence on Pinterest.
2. 1:1 power sessions... where you have me as your personal coach/question answerer for either 30 or 60 mins... we leave no stone unturned.
3. I can also audit your account or conduct keyword research - these services are in their infancy so detailed info is not on my website yet - but please ask me if you're interested!
So there we go! The latest update on what's going on around here.
I'm excited... are you? Pinterest is calling!!
The Pinterest Cycle 🔄
After you’ve set up your account and done your keyword research (this should be done before you pin a single thing!) this is the pattern your efforts follow.
How often you go through this cycle depends on you! I 100% recommend you bulk create and schedule your pins, therefore you won’t have to do this too often!
Do you follow this cycle or do you have a different approach?
Alright, enough jibber jabbing... how can I actually help your business?
When it comes to Pinterest marketing I love to work 1 on 1 with small business owners (there's another post about why so I won't go into that here).
1. I offer 1:1 online coaching/Q&A sessions where we can talk about how best to use Pinterest for your business and answer all the questions you have. These sessions are so value packed I really should up the price!!
2. I have one-off services where I can either set up your new Pinterest account for success OR optimise your existing account to help it perform better. Details of these services are on my webiste.
3. You can hand over the reins and let me manage your whole Pinterest for you... that way you know it's in the best possible hands!
So what do you think? Want to chat more about any of these options? Get in touch!

I'm often asked about re-pinning old pins. Can you do it? Yes you can, but not too much.
Pinterest has a bit of a preferential system when it comes to pins and how they much love they will get from the platform. Completely fresh pins will perform the best, but you can repurpose pins/parts of your pins to fill in gaps.
A brand new image and a newly published page link is the gold standard, but there is some wiggle room.
YES! They actually do! This is how to do it...
At the end of your pin caption/description that already includes some of your keywords, you can add another 2-3 different keywords in the form of hashtags. This easily adds extra keywords to boost your searchability without having to work them into your copy.
Best practice is just to add 2-3 though and no more.

I'm working on setting up Pinterest for a client this week and while explaining the actions I was taking to her I thought - "Hey, this would make a good post". So here it is 💁🏼♀️
Before you pin a single thing on Pinterest you should tick all these things off. In fact, the keywords should actually come first because they are needed for most of the other steps too!
Any questions? Shout out below! 👇🏻
You've been thinking about it for awhile... is this the year you finally take a plunge?
Let me tell you why you should...
1. Visual Appeal and Discovery: Pinterest is a highly visual platform, making it ideal for showcasing products or services through eye-catching images. Small businesses can leverage this visual appeal to capture the attention of potential customers and drive engagement.
2. Increased Website Traffic: Pinterest serves as a traffic driver by allowing businesses to link directly to their websites from pinned images. This can lead to increased website traffic, helping small businesses to expand their online presence and potentially convert Pinterest users into customers.
3. Targeted Audience Reach: Pinterest enables businesses to reach a specific audience through the use of keywords, categories, and interests. By creating content tailored to the interests of their target audience, small businesses can connect with potential customers who are actively searching for related products or services.
4. Long-Term Visibility: Unlike some other social media platforms where content may have a short lifespan, Pinterest content can have a longer shelf life. Pins can continue to be discovered and shared over time, providing small businesses with a more sustained and lasting marketing impact.
Keen? You know who to talk to... (*ahem* it's me)
If I could tell you just 3 things about Pinterest in relation to marketing for your business, it would be these...
1. Without keywords, your content will float around without anyone seeing it. They are CRITICAL and must be researched and used in all the right places.
2. Your pins may take longer to gain traction but once they do they will continue to rack up views and engagement for far longer than on any other platform.
3. It's not as simple as just popping up a pin. There are a whole bunch of puzzle pieces that need to be put together to be successful on the platform. It's not a hard puzzle once you know what/where all the pieces are, but if you don't put all the pieces together it won't work like you want it to.
There's so much more I could tell you but this is a good place to start. If you have more questions or need clarification I have 1:1 sessions where we can chat all things Pinterest. It's amazing how much we cover in these sessions!
Send me a message or jump onto my website for more info on these.

There isn't really a one size fits all approach to Pinterest marketing. Sure the key concepts may be the same (or similar) but the way in which to apply them depends on a variety of factors.

This is just part of this glowing testimonial... here's the rest of it...
“I have had a Pinterest account for sometime now but never really understood how the whole thing worked so I approached Jo from Sojo Social for some help.
I am so impressed with what Jo has done with my Pinterest account. I now have amazing branded boards and she has started me off with some great Pins, templates and an action guide.
Jo also gave me great training to ensure that I was confident using Pinterest.
This isn’t the first time that I have used Sojo Social, Jo has put together Hashtags for my Instagram account.
I highly recommend Sojo Social for creating or updating your Pinterest account, or anything social media really.”
Is it your turn? Let's get in touch in DM's or through my website. https://sojosocial.com.au/
I'm trying really hard to convince you that Pinterest deserves your attention... have I done it yet?
Not all marketing platforms or channels are created equal, and not all are right for EVERY business.
While Instagram and Facebook suit MOST, Pinterest does not fall into that camp.
Pinterest is amazing for the RIGHT types of business, can be good for some others, and are not worth the effort for many.
Which category does your business fit into? Ask me in the comments and I'll give you my thoughts for free! (Or you can swipe to see the top business types, but they're not the only ones!)
Okay so this isn't a proven fact, but what I do know for sure is that every business owner I have a 1:1 Pinterest session with is amazed by how much ground we cover in one session, and are always SO GLAD they came out of the Google rabbit hole and got in touch with me.
Why is it so powerful? Because we only focus on your business and what you need/want to know.
🩵Just getting started with Pinterest? We'll take it slow.
🩷Got the basics down pat but want to know more? Great - let's take it from there.
💙Been using the platform for awhile but ready to level up? Game on!
My 1:1 sessions start from just $45 and I can unofficially guarantee that the time you would take to research would cost you more than that...
So... let's get together! Send me a message to book in or check out my website: https://sojosocial.com.au/pinterest-marketing/
Now you know this you won't look at your social content the same way ever again!
Gosh we work hard to create a good social media post, don't we? And for what - a handful of likes in the first 24 hours then... nothing?
Not over on Pinterest. Without a word of a lie I promise you that Pinterest content generates leads and traffic for your business for months or even YEARS! That feels like better reward for effort, right?
But it has to be done properly... so if you want some tips get in touch, or head over to the FREE resources on my website: https://sojosocial.com.au/resources/
I've been Team Instagram for a long time. I've always preferred it over Facebook for small business mainly because the capacity for organic reach is much larger.
I'm still Team Instagram #1, but am very happy to also play for Team Pinterest (unlike in netball, it requires little cardio!)
So when I talk to people about Pinterest marketing it's not an OR but more an AND. But it doesn't necessarily mean double the work (more on that on my blog). BOTH platforms are fabulous for organic marketing and reach for the right businesses.

Did you know I wrote an ebook? It wasn't easy, but it was something I really wanted to do to help business owners who wanted to learn more about Pinterest.
One of the main reasons why I wanted to do it was this: Pinterest is something that many are interested in, but are just not sure about it. They therefore don't want to invest $$$ into learning about it.
Therefore, a low cost resource to help them out was something I felt was needed!
So here it is. My Pinterest ebook. It's only $16.95 but is JAM PACKED with so much info and tips. Find it on my website here: https://sojosocial.com.au/shop/diy-resources/pinterest/grow-your-business-with-pinterest/
Caption writing has been my most popular service over the past 12 or so, and I don't have to think hard about "why". Business owners struggle with what to say, and how to keep it fresh so their posts don't always say the same.
That's where I come in. I take your product photos and write compelling captions in your brand voice, tailored to your audience. Then deliver them to you ready to post.
And TBH - I'm really good at it. The proof of that is the clients that have come back for batch after batch.
Want to find out more about how this works? Drop a comment below and I'll follow you up. I also have a free trial where I caption 3 of your images to see if we're a fit.

"But Jo, why should I even THINK about using Pinterest for my business when I already have so much on the go?"
Well, dear business owner, let me tell you...
For some businesses, Pinterest is swarming with potential customers. And they are usually on the platform LOOKING TO BUY. That's right - unlike with IG and FB where people are just scrolling through, visitors to Pinterest usually have something in mind that they are looking for.
If that something is your product then you need to be on the platform and you need to be able to be found! (that's where key words come in).
So, what about the effort? Well if you've been using social media already then you've already got a whole heap of content ready to go - your existing posts! Got a blog? That's a gold mine for Pinterest content. It's just sitting there ready to go.
You can easily duplicate content, subjects etc and schedule them in bulk.
Keen to know a bit more about this? Happy for you to slide into my DM's or pop over to my blog to read a bit more about it. I'd love to share what I know!

Hi! Have we met? Get to know me a bit better with these little tidbits...
- I started business life with a handmade children's decor online store. I loved it! Being creative, doing markets... but after awhile it wasn't working out time/effort wise, so I wound it up. I've now been in social media for over 7 years!
- I used to dream of living somewhere warm and sunny (I was in Melbourne), then almost 2 years ago we made a huge move to Ballina, North Coast NSW. Now the sun shines all year round and the ocean and stunning beaches are right nearby. Literally living the dream!
- I love coffee, the beach, my family and always have music playing when I can. My fave band (and celeb crush) has been the same since I was 13 😍 Looking at you and
Thanks for following... would love to hear from you!

Right - want to know what you need to do on Pinterest in a nutshell? 🥜📌
1. Only pin great images - your pin will do NOTHING if it doesn't have a great image. People won't click on it. Simple.
2. Another mistake that I see all the time that will stop your pin from succeeding is not using keywords. An image and link will NOT get you the results you need.
3. Give users a reason to click on your pins. You need to identify why your audience users the platform and create content to suit. Hint: this may not be the type of content you thought you wanted to share!

Yesterday was my first social post in over a month. Oops! School holidays didn't help but I could have planned for that. The reality is - I struggle with my own social media, just like you do.
*Fortunately none of this applies with my client work! 🤷🏼♀️*
I sometimes struggle with what to post on my socials. When I do know what to post, I get stuck with creating the graphic.
There are times (like yesterday) when I get my mojo on and create a bunch of content and schedule it all (this week will be good!) but then I stop. And all momentum dies!
So I think it's time I really practice what I preach, and properly plan my social media posts. I'm a pen and paper girl - so check out my stories to see a pic of what I'm doing!
My point is... if you find socials hard then you are not alone. All of my clients struggle with it (they wouldn't be working with me if they didn't!) and even the "pro's" don't always find it easy.
Tell me - do you struggle? Or you can just give me encouragement by liking this post... I'm a results oriented kinda gal!
The use of threads "cratered" according to reports. Since it's high just after launch, daily active users have dropped 25% and time spent on the app has dropped over 50%.
This doesn't surprise me - it is/was a new shiny object that people wanted to love, but I couldn't get into it personally. I didn't know what to post, and just didn't feel the need to engage and interact even more online... it just isn't for me.
But I did see a lot of people doing a brilliant job on there and know a lot of people loved it - so tell me, are you still on threads or have you dropped off?
