Jorge Fabian Gonzalez visits in April 2013 in partnership with Florida Colombia Partners of the Americas, Partners of the Americas, Center Eastern Colombia Chapter, and U.S. Department of State. The trip focused on , and he was able to travel throughout the state and meet with contacts at Miami Dade College, Stetson University, University of Miami, Florida International University, Face to Face Languages, Seminole State College of Florida, Mainland High School, Blue Lake Elementary and others. Shout out to John Charles Schoch whom coordinated the efforts and traveled with Fabian.
We just completed our chapter meeting this morning which included members from across the globe- Colombia, Florida, and Thailand.
Our Florida Chapter of Partners of the Americas is holding a quarterly meeting at Stetson U., DeLand, in room 121 of Davis Hall at 10am this coming Saturday, February 1, 2020. Working with partners in Latin America we conduct education and culture programs and exchange visits. We welcome anyone interested in helping with those activities.

In collaboration with FIU’s Steven J. Green School of International and Public Affairs, Global Americans produced a white paper for U.S. Southern Command titled “The Future of U.S.-Colombian Relations.” The report, based on several months of research, looks at potential scenarios for security, diplomatic, and economic relations between the two allies in the context of dramatic changes to Colombia’s party system, growing political polarization, and the humanitarian and political crises in Venezuela.

Universidad de Córdoba representatives visit Stempel College, sign partnership agreement Representatives from the Universidad de Córdoba in Colombia recently visited Stempel College as the two institutions embark on a new research project together.
Aiyanna Maciel, President of the Stetson Partners Campus chapter, served as the Membership & Youth Leadership Intern this summer at the International Office in Washington, D.C. and was responsible for supporting both the Membership Team and Youth Leadership teams.
Some of the work included outreach for the upcoming Higher Education Partnership Conference in Cartagena, working on the Youth Leadership and Education & Culture Final Reports for the Department of State, data entry, creating presentation materials for various programs, providing feedback on existing programs, and helping the Membership team manage, improve, and expand communication with the PartnersCampus Network.

Chapter president Tony Abbott was fortunate to secure funding from Stetson University to take four students on a Mentored field Experience to Colombia in May 2018. Site visits and networking opportunities were organized by Partners of the Americas associates, Lorena Lopez and Luis Carlos Villanueves (Bogota), and Maralex Martinez (Barranquilla). Students made many contacts, established a Partners Campus Chapter at Stetson and will host visitors from Colombia and Panama in October 2018. (see our FB photos)
